"The owner, Ron, took the time to look over our AC unit thoroughly (inside, thermostat, and outdoor unit). He also gave us directions/tips and specific items/problem areas for maintenance. He even went out of the way to find a part that we needed instead of trying to pressure us to get a whole new unit. He cleaned everything, cleaned up after himself, he discussed everything with me, he let me know the status of the heating system and approximate age and, of course, how long they usually give them before they break down. And it's time to replace it, needless to say, and he said he would pass the message along and have a gentleman call me to do some investigating as far as prices and what it would cost to replace. "Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

"The technician did an excellent job. It did take a while to get the repair finished, but that was due to Bertazzoni delivering the parts. I have had multiple problems with this particular appliance. My range now works better than it did when new, but I have a feeling that even if I have continuing problems with it, American Home Shield will just repair rather than replace due to the cost of the range. By the way, I'm not exactly sure of the date of the repair."
