"We hired Jake to build a new deck for our yard and we could not be happier (both with the decision to hire Jake and the deck itself). We particularly appreciated the quality of his workmanship and his high level of attention to detail (something that was very important to us). Jake was also extremely helpful in the overall design and planning aspects of the project offering helpful suggestions about materials, potential layout, etc. every step of the way. Jake is responsive and professional and we would not hesitate to hire him again for future projects. On this deck project we were truly thrilled with the final results. Although we did see some lower bids for the work (before selecting Jake), we are confident that we got great value for our dollar in terms of final quality."

Small jobs welcome

"Alex painted all of our stucco last year and while he was here he told me he could do our driveway. I ended up giving him redoing our driveway and all and all it was HUGE project. Then less than a year after different parts of the driveway paint started to peel. I have asked him to come since March 3rd to repair and he promised several times he will show up. Never did. Never takes my calls and after having called him multiple times I got a text from him this morning that he will let me know when he has time! Here are the screenshots. Very disappointing. I thought I had found a reliable painter but he doesn?t stand behind his with. I don?t recommend this business"

Customers say: True professional

"Leo was very helpful and quick to respond. We’re happy with how our 2 bathrooms turned out. Project was completed within the time promised. Our only complaint is that the workers did not clean up very well. But overall, we’re satisfied and we’ll use them again. "

"We hired Noble Glass Inc. to replace a window with a custom door for our San Diego townhouse. The process has been extremely disappointing from start to finish. We were initially told the job would take around two weeks. Instead, it dragged on for over two months with almost no proactive communication. Calls and emails were rarely returned, and when we did reach someone, we were repeatedly told we?d get a call back that never came. When the door finally arrived, we discovered it had been ordered in the wrong size ? even though their own team came out and measured the opening. Instead of taking responsibility for the mistake, they attempted to charge us thousands of dollars more for additional demo, drywall, and stucco work that only became necessary because of the sizing error. We had already paid the deposit based on the original quote, and the experience has caused significant delays in getting our property ready for rental ? resulting in real financial impact. "

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in La Jolla, CA

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
