Customers say: Quick response

"Heberto is the most professional, communicative, and skilled mason in the middle TN area. He has done 3 projects for us: 2 retaining walls and flagstone pathway, and we couldn't be happier. His crew is always on time, efficient, and they really take pride in their work. And 5 years after the first retaining wall (complete with drainage system), his work stands the test of time. I really can't say enough good things about Heberto - he makes the whole process feel effortless."

"Very efficient & job well done. Punctual. I wanted Harelequin (Diamond shape) and brick style along with an accent band. My handy husband laid the pebble on floor & niche and bedpan. Husband did have all materials on hand & installed all hardiboard, hardware & glass door. Daniel did cut & place tile at entrance, 3 wall, bench & short wall (depth of bench). Daniel also grout entire shower."

"I have a lot of flower/shrub bedding. The price breaks down to about 7 dollars a foot. This is a little more than some other companies charge, but the quality of the Curbing Edge, is top notch. They install rebar into the curb to protect from cracking and they color the concrete all the way through, so that any nicks that may happen while mowing, etc. will not show. They were on time and were very professional. They started around 7:30 and had all of the 600 feet finished by 3:00 that afternoon. They were super nice and I would not hesistate to use them again. <br />"

"The job went very well.  Chris Agee of Living Stone and his team did what they said they would do and on schedule.  Their job was to get everything ready so that concrete could be poured to expand the existing driveway and that is what they did.  Another company came and poured the concrete and that company did not have to make any adjustments to the preparation done by Living Stone.  We have received several complements from neighbors on how well the wall looks.  It not only enhanced our property but also the property of the neighbor whose property adjoins ours along the wall."

"The problem:  I have an old house and my chimney was leaking causing my plaster wall paint to start bubbling and discoloring.  I tried having a handyman recaulk the flashing 3 times, but that didn't work. <br /> So I thought maybe it's the chimney, so I had 2 different roofers before finding Randy... here were their "solutions" <br /> 1. Roofer 1: "Ahh just fill in the fireplace it will never leak again. Who wants a fireplace these days anyhow?"  WHAT??!! $ 2500 <br /> 2. Roofer 2: "Oh we can just build a cricket to divert the water and then spray the chimney with liquid rubber so it won't leak anymore." My question: "Did they used to spray liquid rubber back in 1925 to seal leaky chimneys?... I didn't think so...$ 1500 <br /> 3. Morris, "Mam I think the reason your chimney is leaking is because of the gaps in the mortar. (Shows me pictures he took from his phone) This happens when a house is old like yours from the weather over the years. No problem...The solution is just to cut out the joints, reapply the mortar, seal and paint the chimney-- BINGO!! $ 850 <br /> Morris is the REAL deal, no he's not a handyman, who "just does chimney, roof repair etc." on the side, this guy is a TRAINED, QUALIFIED, CRAFTSMAN, TRADESMAN and PROFESSIONAL. He's been this his doing this his whole life. Total old school all the way.  He's someone who knows their craft and is diligent about doing it and doing it well.  He does not have a big crew, because he likes to make sure the jobs he takes on are done right. ( I had this conversation with his wife) I applaud him and respect him for having this much pride in his work. It may take a few weeks to get on the schedule, but he's worth the wait. <br /> He came over to my house at 7 pm to access the chimney, then came over again another 3 times to remortar, seal and then paint my chimney. The results- my chimney is bone dry!  Problem solved! <br /> For someone who is a stickler for finding QUALITY PROFESSIONALS,  I was completely satisfied and will be calling him each and everytime I have a job that needs his expertise. Well done! <br />"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in La Vergne, TN

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
