"They came - put up an non-opening replacement door - took my old door away - and when it came back looked like new! The leaded glass had a 'bracing bar' where the solder had broken - so, they rebuilt the leaded glass in the door (looks better than it did new)... Also, the hardware (dead bolt - latch/knob) had lost its finish due to the sun... - they also allowed me to pick out a new hardware set and put that on also... (extra charge of course... and the leaded glass repair was extra - I'm very, very pleased with the result! :-)"

"The customer service at Southwest Exteriors far exceeds that of any company we have ever done business with! They truly go above and beyond the call of duty. Their workmanship is excellent and they truly aim to please! Scott Barr, the owner of the company always returns our calls or texts in a very timely manner, and Southwest Exteriors will not forget about you after they complete the project at your home. I believe Southwest Exteriors stands head and shoulders above the vanishing breed of companies when it comes to customer service as well as service after the sale! They even helped repair our front door lock just out of the kindness of their hearts. Joshua did an excellent job! I would definitely recommend them to do work at any of my friends or relatives homes, and I would definitely hire them again to do work in my home."

"Jason Dawson did an amazing job! He was professional, thorough, and knowledgeable of the garage door. He replaced both tension springs, tightened all of the bolts and lubricated all moving components. Thank you Jason! I will definitely call Precision again!"

FAQs for doors (exterior) installation and replacement projects in La Vernia, TX

Modern steel doors incorporate protective coatings and finishes that significantly reduce rust potential. These treatments create effective moisture barriers when properly maintained. Small scratches or damage should be promptly addressed with touch-up paint to prevent moisture from reaching the underlying metal.

Doors in coastal or high-humidity environments benefit from additional protective measures and more frequent inspection. With proper care, most steel doors resist corrosion for decades.

Steel doors provide superior resistance against forced entry attempts compared to fiberglass alternatives. The inherent strength of steel creates a formidable barrier that resists impacts and tampering more effectively than composite materials.

While high-quality fiberglass doors offer reasonable security, steel provides an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and structural integrity. For maximum protection, look for steel doors with reinforced strike plates and multi-point locking systems.

Most manufacturers provide warranties covering manufacturing defects for periods ranging from five to 15 years, depending on the product line and quality tier. Hardware components often carry separate warranty coverage, often for shorter durations. Installation services may include workmanship guarantees covering proper fitting and operation. Always review warranty documentation carefully to understand coverage limitations and maintenance requirements that might affect warranty validity.

Provided your existing wood frame remains structurally sound and properly aligned, professional installers can often adapt a steel door to fit. The process requires careful measurement and potentially minor modifications to accommodate the new door's specifications. The frame must provide adequate support for the heavier steel door construction. A qualified installer will evaluate your current frame's condition and recommend appropriate adjustments to ensure proper function and security.
