"AS STATED ABOVE, WE TRUST ARTIC AIR LIKE FAMILY AND KNOW HOW PICKY THEY ARE WITH THEIR WORK AND PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE. JEFF WHEN CHECKING THE EXISTING EXTERIOR VENTING FOR THE DRYER HAD TO CLIMB INTO THE ATTIC AREA, AS THE EXISTING VENT WENT INTO THE ATTIC AND EXITED THROUGH THE ROOF! WE HAVE ALWAYS DISLIKED THIS SET-UP AND NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY THE BUILDER PUT THE DRYER VENT EXISTING ATOP OUR ROOF WHEN THE DRYER IS 2 FEET FROM AN EXTERIOR WALL AND COULD HAVE GONE OUT EASILY (THIS IS WHAT JEFF ENDED UP DOING!) WHEN JEFF WAS IN THE ATTIC, HE, NOR WE, COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT HE FOUND - HE TOOK A PICTURE TO SHOW US TOO - (I HOPE I CAN DESCRIBE THIS IN WORDS SINCE I CANNOT DRAW IT HERE FOR YOU) 1. THE EXHAUST VENT EXITED THE DRYER INTO THE WALL THEN MADE A 90 DEGREE TURN AND WENT UP INTO THE ATTIC WHERE IT MADE ANOTHER 90 DEGREE TURN GOING ABOUT 6-8FT, THEN MADE ANOTHER 90 DEGREE TURN TO GO UP AND THROUGH THE ROOF! WOW, ALL THESE 90's ARE ASKING FOR TROUBLE! PLUS THE VERY EXTENDED LENGTH OF THIS VENT WAS ANOTHER PROBLEM, WHICH ALSO VIOLATED INSTALLATION FOR THE OLD and NEW DRYERS PER MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTION AND PER CODES! 2. SECOND PROBLEM PROVED WITH A PHOTO, WAS THE ORIGINAL INSTALLERS OF THIS DUCT/VENT USED SQUARE/RECTANGULAR DUCTING IN THE ATTIC AND UP THROUGH THE ROOF. THE PROBLEM IS THE VENTING FROM THE DRYER TO THE WALL AND UP THROUGH THE WALL IS <strong>ROUND! </strong>SO THE INSTALLERS HAMMERED/SQUISHED THE RECTANGULAR VENT END SO IT WOULD FIT INTO THE ROUND VENT!! (THERE IS A SAYING and quot;YOU CAN'T PUT A SQUARE PEG IN A ROUND HOLEand quot; - UNLESS YOU BEAT IT TO DEATH WITH A HAMMER FIRST - LIKE THE ORIGINAL INSTALLER DID!) OBVIOUSLY THIS COULD CAUSE TRAPPING OF LINT ON THESE ROUGH AND IRREGULAR FOLDS AND OBSTRUCTIONS WITHIN THE ROUND EXHAUST VENT! WE COULD NOT BELIEVE OUR EYES WHEN VIEWING THESE PHOTOS!! WE HAVE JUST BEEN VERY FORTUNATE THAT NO LINT FIRES EVER OCCURRED!! <br /> <br /> SO, WE LEFT THE MESS IN THE ATTIC BUT DETACHED THE EXHAUST VENT FROM IT. JEFF DRILLED THROUGH THE EXISTING PLASTIC INSERT (WALL ENTRY COVER FOR PREVIOUS EXHAUST VENT) INTO THE WALL AND OUT INTO A LARGE PANTRY BEHIND THE DRYER WALL. JEFF THEN WENT OUTSIDE TO DRILL THROUGH THE STUCCO AND CONCRETE BLOCK INTO THE PANTRY. BLESS HIS HEART, THIS TOOK A LONG TIME TO GET THROUGH THAT BLOCK ALTHOUGH HE HAD THE CORRECT EQUIPMENT! WE WERE PLEASED THAT HE KNEW TO DRILL FROM THE OUTSIDE IN TO PREVENT SERIOUS CRACKING AND BREAKING OF THE EXTERIOR STUCCO!! JEFF USED A 45 DEGREE CONNECTOR TO CONNECT THE VENT FROM THE WALL TO THE 5 FOOT PIPE/VENT THAT EXITED TO THE EXTERIOR! SO WE HAVE NO 90 DEGREE TURNS (VS. THE 4 BEFORE) AND ONLY 5-6 FEET OF VENTING VS. 30-40 FT. THAT WE PREVIOUSLY HAD! JEFF DID A FABULOUS JOB!!!! HE, AS ALWAYS, CLEANED UP EVERYTHING INTERIORLY AND EXTERIORLY, PATCHING PILOT HOLES HE HAD DRILLED IN THE DRYWALL, AND INSURED EVERYTHING VENTED PROPERLY AND FREE OF LEAKS, ETC. ALL PARTS FIT TOGETHER SMOOTHLY WITHOUT ANY SCREWS OR PROTRUSIONS THAT COULD CATCH LINT. IT WORKS GREAT AND YES, THE CLOTHES DRY FASTER NOW!! THANKS JEFF! ANOTHER JOB DONE IN THEIR OUTSTANDING MANNER!! JEFF AND MICHAEL CARE ABOUT EACH AND EVERY CUSTOMER - TRY ARTIC AIR - YOU'LL LOVE THEM TOO!"

"The company's workman was prompt and professional. However, I was disappointed with the actual process of cleaning the vents. Basically all they did vacuum out the ducks, going from the vent side about 1-2 feet into the duct. The end of their vacuum hose had whirling feather like mechanical brush. Since they never went far enough to get into the main duct system, they only cleaned about 30% of the total duct system. Further more, I was dumb enough to let them talk me into what they called "Sterilizing" the duct, at $199 extra. It sounded good in principle but all it really was a 15-20 second spraying of, some liquid, into the furnace return while is was running. After witnessing this, I felt like a dope for agreeing to it. I'm not beating up on the company or the on-sight guy. It's just that there should be called "Duct Vent Area Cleaning". This all they did not a full Duct cleaning. Sorry I payed for it."

"I don't have experience with other companies as to rating their prices.  I don't ask them to move furniture when they clean. <br /> I have used this company as "Chuck Rutten's Steamaster, LLC" for carpet cleaning for 7 or 8 years.  Two employees come and they are always punctual and courteous.  The carpet is light colored and the high traffic areas are always in need of a little extra attention.  There was only one time that, once the carpet dried, I realized that part of  the carpet didn't get cleaned quite as well compared to other cleanings. I did not call them to go over it again, but the next time I used them I brought the problem to their attention and they were extra diligent. <br /> I've also used this company in an "emergency" situation when a small water heater in a back bedroom closet started leaking, soaking carpet in parts of two bedrooms, the hall and a bathroom vinyl floor.  They came quickly, and because my husband had just returned from a hospital stay and was unable to take care of  the water heater himself, Mr. Rutten had someone come in and assist with that.  They had to raise furniture, detach the carpet from the tack strips and leave fans running.  When we ended up having to return to the hospital for a couple of days, and couldn't be home for them to pick up their equipment, we were told not to worry and just call for them to return for it  when we could.  One less worry for me! <br /> I will continue to use their services. <br />"

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Lake-como, FL

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
