"My wife and I needed a fence segment installed and a 10ft wide driveway gate to keep our German Shepherd contained the backyard. Northland was hands down a great company and I would recommend them for any fence job. We went with steel wrought iron and it’s absolutely beautiful. We contacted about 8-10 different companies, and Northland’s pricing and options were by far the best. They had a few different styles of fencing and gave us a price breakdown for each one. They were the first company we contacted and they even recommended two other places to see if they would offer a better price, although they did not and we went with Northland regardless. The first step was to remove our old fence, which they did in no time at all, and then they drove the posts into the ground. They came back just over 1 week later to install the fence and gate and they did a wonderful job. If you have Nick and Alejandro installing it they’ll do excellent work. Whenever we need another fencing project complete we will contact Northland. Overall they had great customer service and we couldn’t be happier with the results."

"Top Notch is a small fencing company with (I think) just one crew. They take pride in their work and did a terrific job. Their sales rep, Joe, was very helpful (and patient) as I worked out some final details on a custom gate I wanted them to build. He said the fence should be up by Halloween and indeed they started the project on the 29th and finished it on the 30th.  <br /> I was a little nervous when they took a half down deposit and I didn't get a receipt or see a final contract. However, I looked at the other Angie's List reviews and figured it would all be okay -- and it was. Joe told me what the extras would cost (custom gate, special latch, window, etc.) and even though it wasn't in writing, there were no surprises. I didn't ding them on this on the report because all the verbal communication had been very prompt and again -- there were no surprises.  <br /> I wanted a nice fence because it is so visible, and it looks fantastic.  The potentially cranky adjacent neighbor loves it and I've had a lot of positive comments on the craftsmanship. I only wish I had had it built years ago.. <br />"

"Overall good experience, the fence and gate look amazing and really tie the backyard all together. However, the one side of the fence now places the underground sprinkler heads, which were clearly marked with flags, (3 of them) on my neighbor's yard that water the fence on his side of the property. I have reached out them but not heard back unfortunately. I hope they can provide a resolution to their mistake. - Follow up to earlier review: They stopped by on the Monday after my weekend email, was basically told there would be no resolution to my unhappiness with the underground sprinkler mistake. That being said the fence still looks great, but service for an honest mistake is not a priority for this company. Do not use them if service is important to you after the job is finished."

"We got five quotes in April and Midwest was the second cheapest. Our neighbor used them for a similar material fence and it looked nice. I was swayed to Midwest for the financing options. The good thing was that the installer crews were always very prompt, and arrived first thing in the morning- almost at 8 a.m. on the dot. We’re disappointed in the level of communication from Midwest. For a company that boasts of installing thousands of fences per year, they sure don’t have their system down. From between the salesperson to the scheduler to the finishing staff to billing, it seems none of them talk to one another. We told our salesperson our initial concerns. We questioned where our property line was. We were assured they would correctly locate it. There was a huge lack of communication in that. At completion, the fence looks fine. The crews worked quickly. We’re a bit of perfectionists and we were disappointed that they flew through some of the steps- building the gates with screws not spaced the same distances, stripping out screw heads, leaving glue residue, etc. Especially for the gates that cost a thousand bucks each and are built on site. The thing I am most disappointed in is that NO one has called me following completion to see how we are satisfied with it. This just seems like strange business practice because every other home improvement we have contracted out has them meeting with us to go over the final product and final out the job- siding, concrete, roof, etc. The only person who called me was a rude business person wanting the final payment. I said there are things we needed fixed and had called the finishing crew, which illicited a huffing sigh. They need to work on communication between staff and start to finish job progress tracking. It’s sad when the cable company has a better tracking record of who and when you talked to them about specific issues."

"Dan Krech (the owner of Krech Ironworks) worked closely with my husband and I to create the perfect rail to fit our 1889 Victorian duplex. We were on a tight timetable, and they met our timetable for a City of St. Paul housing inspector's return visit. The quality of the installed rail is excellent and it looks like it's always been there. (The housing inspector approved the installation without question.) I cannot recommend this company (and Dan) highly enough."

"Chad Fox is one very hard worker and he runs an incredibly impressive crew!  You don't know what impressive work is until you've worked with these guys...and I'm a bit on the picky side. <br /> I contacted Spiral Fence because I had heard great things about their work from a friend.  Chad responded very quickly to my inquiry with every detail I needed.  Once I finally made up my mind on the style and gathered my deposit together, I called him again with the green light.   <br /> This project was smooth sailing from start to finish!  Chad <strong>ALWAYS </strong>made sure to keep me informed of the timeline and the project status.  I <strong>NEVER </strong>had to contact him for more information--he was <strong>ALWAYS</strong> 5 steps ahead of my needs.   <br /> As cliche' as it sounds, I really did feel like I was his only customer.  I swear he must work 20 hours out of every day to be this responsive and thorough.  I've never met a contractor like him before.  I really think EVERYTHING matters to him and his crew: quality, responsiveness and professionalism. They cleaned up every tiny piece of lumber they cut up and I even saw one of the crew members closely inspecting the work piece by piece when they were done...and then Chad came through and checked it again. <br /> I absolutely <strong>LOVE </strong>the fence they built for me and I absolutely <strong>LOVED </strong>working with this company.  I have zero complaints and <strong>TONS OF WONDERFUL COMPLIMENTS </strong>to offer on their work.  I recommend them to everyone! <br /> Great job guys!!!"

"The project went very well.  Storm damage caused by two trees coming down on two sides of the fence was repaired in 2-3 hours.  The workers reviewed all needed work from the estimate prior to beginning the work.  They even volunteered to replace a top rail from another section of the fence, not included in the estimate, that had been bent in a storm many years before.   The workers were very thorough, did not damage any plants or grass around the damaged areas and cleaned up after themselves.  The workers were knowledgeable and polite.   They made sure everything was nice and straight!  Everything looked very nice when they were finished.  The workers were approximately an hour late from the start time I had been given.  I called and was told they had gotten a late start.  Their good work made up for the lateness. <br />"

"Loved the fence when they had finished installing it, but after 5 years, one post rotted out. Two years later three more posts were totally rotted. A WARNING ABOUT THIS COMPANY: Make sure someone is home to make sure the post installers properly install the posts. On the posts that have failed, installers put the post directly on the soil. One post had a whole side that had no cement. I had the owner come out and look at the situation. Because of their 5 year guarantee, they will do nothing. He told me that basically "it's just normal fence maintenance to replace the posts every 5-7 years". I KNOW from talking to neighbors and other fence installers this isn't how long a cedar fence post should last. AGAIN - watch the workers carefully or they will cut corners and you'll be constantly replacing the posts (as I will have to do)."

"All Around came through on short notice with a very competitive price relative to other reputable roofers.  We could have found a less expensive roofer, but we wanted a company with a solid history of competent work.   The dumpster ended up sitting in our driveway a day or so after the work was completed.  All Around indicated that the dumpster company they use was running behind.  Otherwise, the job went well. <br />"
