"I hired Adrian to complete my front yard. He was friendly, had references and his price was very fair. He did a beautiful job and I am beyond happy with the results. He’s also organized and explained things clearly. "

"In retrospect, I shouldn’t have paid him before the job was done. The job was to remove the sod and level the yard, then cover three areas of it with sandstone set in concrete pads. (Later, I would put ground cover/gravel between the stones.) Darren had originally quoted me what sounded like a surprisingly reasonable price for labor (and only labor - I was to buy the stones myself). I hired him and work began. The job seemed to be going well, so I paid him the final check early. Once I handed him the final check (again, a clear mistake on my part to do before the job was finished) and left to go to a doctor’s appointment, he bounced. When I came back to find he was gone and his assistant was cleaning up, I asked where he’d gone. His assistant, Eddie, informed me that I would be putting the stones in myself now, and that he’d help me. I called Darren about this sudden change in plans and he told me that this work was really beneath him so I should be the one to do it. He said he’d taken a job working on my neighbor’s yard for a few days so he’d be close by if anything was needed. Despite my misgivings, I agreed to do the labor **I had already paid him to do.** So Eddie and I did the work of lifting/moving/placing heavy flagstones for the next day and a half. Once the check cleared, Darren came back, looked at the stones, pretended to be surprised at how many there were, and claimed that the job would take a lot more money because he had misunderstood what needed to be done and it would be more work than he’d thought - pouring more concrete, specifically. He claimed that he assumed there were only going to be a few stones in each area, not covering each area. Even though I and his assistant had done a good portion of the work he had been hired to do, his quote to finish the job was an additional 71% of the total I’d already paid him. I had obviously fallen for one of the oldest scams in the book. FTR, at our initial consultation, I had shown him files and sketches of what I wanted done: three areas of my yard covered with sandstone with ground cover/gravel between. Though he later claimed he had no memory of having seen the sketches and files of examples of what I wanted done, he had clearly understood what the job was at the time he took it. His instructions to take his measurements to the building supply company so they could sell me the number of pallets I needed to cover the areas were clearly understood by both myself and the company to mean that the square footage would be for coverage. While I enjoy hard work, I had paid *him* to do the labor. I am certain, however, that he had me and his assistant do the labor of lifting and placing each stone in order that he could pretend to be surprised when he came back the next day to find more stones than he supposedly thought were supposed to go in. It’s my firm belief that everything - the lowball quote, the missing a day of work, making me do his labor for him, etc - was a setup. It wouldn’t be the first time this has happened to a customer, but it’s definitely the last time I’ll ever hire this guy and I highly recommend anyone looking to have stone work done on their property avoid hiring Stonecraft Masonry for anything."

"Fire victims: Beware of construction company tactics hindering your recovery by delaying project completion & prevent you from obtaining the Certificate of Occupancy that is required to obtain a refinance loan after a fire. Please verify credentials of anyone working on your project is fully licensed with the Contractors State License Board, provide their legal name (not an alias), & operate from a legitimate business address rather than a P.O. box. Avoid contractors who rely on subcontractors, as they may attempt to shift blame. Never take loan or financing advice from them. Insist on written contracts & keep detailed email records of all communications & agreements. Make sure they comply with state & federal laws, especially asbestos. In my case, Joseph Sastiel abandoned my project for the loan to default. Thank GOD I am still in my home to defend myself & my family. Finally, our trial is 12/1/2025. Despite his attorney?s threats to appeal, I look forward to seeking justice."

"I’m reluctantly writing this review. Joe and his team installed a fence on our residential property not quite four years ago at a cost of $30,000.00. I was initially disappointed with the planning and execution of the fence. The staggering of the panels on the property grade was erratic and haphazard. The height of the fence along the grade varies significantly from panel to panel. Over time, parts of the fence have come loose and have fallen off. The fence currently leans and panels are skewed. One portion of the fence, about four panels, was so significantly compromised I asked Joe to look into repairing it, he responded that repair would cost $2,000.00. I declined having him do the repair. Joe is a nice guy and responsive. And as I mentioned, I reluctantly write this, but I do want to warn any future customers of Joe that you may not be pleased with the work."

"Baron Brothers has a large selection of outdoor plants on an impressive acreage of land. The property is so large it took me a while to even find their office. Their plants are well maintained and their staff was very knowledgeable. I will be purchasing more from them in the future."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Lebec, CA

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
