"Justin and his crew repaired deck flooring and supports, painted the supports and railing, and stained the deck flooring--they were prompt, efficient, and professional in all aspects of the project."

"I come to know the owner Justin through his company working for me. I am a retired carpenter and now sell manufactured homes. He did all the drywall repair on all my homes I sold and the others I work with sold. He also built several decks. His on time and perfection on every job tells all you need to know about him and his company. I'm also a pastor and I know this man to be a God fearing Christian that works just as hard for the Kingdom of Heaven. I don't recommend very many but Justin is at the top of my small list of recommendations. If you need to know anything else you can call me 423-259-0619. Glenn"

"They remodeled my kitchen after a leak damaged it and the finished basement. They replaced cabinets, fixtures, and appliances, They repaied the floor. They repaired the ceiling and drywall in my basement. They designed the kitchen and did all of the work themselves except for the countertops which were outsourced to a company they recommended. This project was seamless. They show up when they are supposed to, communicate well, and are very respectful to your property and clean up after themselves. They even returned after they were paid to finish something that had to be special ordered. I really can’t say enough good things about the experience. They are more expensive than some of the other people that I looked at but I think they are worth every penny. No headaches. Will use again."

"I was very impressed with The Easterdays. Ray kept me informed on what they were doing. They arrived on time, both very professional and personable. They were efficient and neat. I would recommend Rocket Wrench to all my friends. I was so impressed with their work ethic and the results of their work I requested quotes on two more larger projects and have accepted both. "

"Handy Chucks did our kitchen re-do, replacing all cabinets along with the flooring on the 1st & 2nd floor and did a GREAT job. Not only did they show up to start when they said they would, they arrived on time on each and every work day. Workers Russ & David did an excellent job of keeping us updated on everything they were doing as the job progressed, and even made suggestions on some extras that were needed (actually needed, not an up-sell). At the end of the day, EVERYTHING was cleaned up before they left for the day. Everyone at Handy Chucks was very personable and easy to talk to. They responded to any questions and/or concerns we had with easy to understand explanations. I would trust Handy Chucks with any other home remodeling jobs we may have in the future, big or small. In fact, wait on their bid on a second small job I need done. "

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Lenoir City, TN

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
