"Mike from Behind the Grind was excellent. I had a small stump in the front of my yard that we needed to grind. He was prompt, friendly, professional, and gave a fair price. I would highly recommend!"

"Stephen called me right away on the day I submitted an email through Angie's List and came over that day for an estimate.  He did the job two days later. I was a little worried that he would have trouble getting the treadmill down from the second floor, but he did so with ease, and he protected my floors in the process.   He was on time, very personable, swept up and raked up after the removal.  I would definitely use him again.  "

"Scott and his crew were professional, courteous and efficient. They removed a very large unstable tree that was close to my house. They not only did a great job and left the whole area spotless but provided me with an entertaining couple of hours!"

"These guys were priced very well compared to other quotes. They were busy and had a bunch of equipment issues last minute that delayed the work but we were not in a rush and for the value it was worth. I would hire them again and recommended them to others because they were a good value if you expect a few bumps along the way."

"We hired Green Flow for a "complete backyard restoration" and we are extremely happy with the final result. This job included everything from tree pruning and brush removal, to re-grading and seeding a large portion of our back yard. We were quoted a very fair price for the work that was done, and I felt the owner, Matt, was totally transparent and honest throughout the job. It was a large amount of work and Matt was excellent at making sure we were on the same page and I felt comfortable with the work being done every step of the way. He would walk the property with me almost daily to go over progress and discuss specific items. That's a real personal touch which I have not often experienced with other companies I've hired. They started by pruning all the trees around our property (and I mean all of them), as well as completely removing a large dead tree. They did enough trimming to leave us maintenance free for a long time, while still keeping the trees looking good and healthy, and they were very careful about not causing damage to our property while working and moving the machines around. They made quick work of all the brush removal, and after adding top soil and re-grading almost half the back yard, had the entire area flowing seamlessly into the rest of the yard. I was impressed by how quickly and efficiently they completed this work, and after seeding and applying erosion netting and straw to the fresh dirt, everything looked very neat and tidy, almost as if they were never there. I even have new grass already coming in strong which speaks to the quality of materials used. Based on our great experience, I would highly recommend Green Flow, not only based on the high quality of work, but also on Matt's communication with and respect for the customer, and commitment to getting the job done right. Our entire property now looks incredible and we are thrilled with the work that was done!"

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Lenox, MA

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
