"Scott and his crew had made a bed for us in 2012. He put part of it on Verizon's landing spot after I told him not to.  It looked nice but Verizon complained and so I had to pay him more to remove the edge and reshape it.  Also in 2015 we contracted to build  a new bed along a chain link fence.  The area is low and needed to be built up.  I asked him to kill the grass before he began but he said it would die from the soil on top.  Well it didn't and now I have to contend with killing the grass among the shrubs.  Also he didn't make the bed deep enough and the wetness killed the shrubs so I have to have the bed made deeper and replace the shrubs. <br />"

"They are a medium-sized, local family business. They are not huge or a national chain. I like to do local business. The staff is knowledgeable, very helpful and accommodating. Their prices are pretty good. They are not cheap and probably are a little bit towards the higher end. That's what they are known for, but they have a good product."

"I cannot say enough good things about this contractor. He is knowledgeable, organized, guarantees his work for two years, and has excellant employees working for him who were neat and polite and able to carry on unsupervised when he was struck down by swine flu during most of our reconstruction. He has the right kinds and sizes of equipment for doing jobs and keeping yard damage to a minimum. He accommodated other contractors that needed to be involved for our project even though it meant relaying pavers that were uplifted to install posts for a gazebo."

"I called to make an appointment and had my phone call returned promptly by the landscape coordinator/planner. He came to the house, listened to what I was looking for and came back with an easy to maintain, right on budget plan. He walked me through maintenance and always was available for questions. We planted late in the season so I can't wait to see how everything will come up!"

"Initially they were very responsive but I had asked for additional estimate which never was scheduled.  I was out of the country for 3 weeks but my husband was home with directions for when they set up the time to do the initial work.  They didn't contact him and when I called they were booked until after Memorial Day.  They called back and said they would make time to get it done earlier.  <br /> The shrub trimming was done very well.  I think if they were coming to mow the lawn and edge the beds it would have been fine but I needed help with weeding and prepping the flower beds.  When I asked questions I was told they generally sprayed to kill most weeds.  They went through the beds with a grass trimmer instead of pulling the weeds.  <br /> I didn't have the time to stand out and supervise as they went through the beds.  <br /> I may have misunderstood and thought they did more than lawn care which is what it seemed like they were better at. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Lewiston, NY

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
