"The KN Remodeling team did an excellent job at our home completely remodeling 3 bathrooms, painting our entire home and rebuilding a huge planter outside. We trusted them in our home while we are out of town almost the entire time. We hired them back to do additional work in our home that they did quickly and expertly. The team was professional, very friendly, worked quickly, quietly, cleanly, and I would highly recommend them. "

"I had a bathroom remodel done by IND Construction. Erez Shifferman was the project manager. Erez was easy to work with, very attentive and gave me feedback on things I wanted and needed. I was told this remodel would take three weeks. It was done in three weeks. His crews were very professional and did a very good job cleaning up after the project."

"We are working with Guy to convert our garage into an ADU/pool house and it is going great. I'm always impressed by the quality of work that Guy and his team at Supreme demonstrate -- and very pleased that they are able to live up to the timeline that he commits to. They are able to work well and quickly, and at a fair price. This is a big project for us, but Guy has walked us through each step so we know what we need to do. This is the second time we have worked with Guy and he has delivered well on both projects he has worked on with us. If you're looking for someone to take care of a remodeling job for you, I would strongly recommend Guy."

"Calwest Construction did an excellent job of gutting and remodeling my master bathroom, which included converting a tub shower space to stand alone tiled shower, bumped bathroom into a spare hall closet to accommodate two sinks, tiled floor, installed custom vanity, enlarged door opening in two bathroom to accommodate aging in place, all walls insulated, new window, new ceiling exhaust fans (both bathrooms). In bedrooms they reconfigured a bedroom closet, replaced some drywall, new matching baseboards in all bedrooms. Created supply/vacuum closet in hallway in remaining space from bathroom bump-out, tiled hallway floor. Replaced 4 squeaky roof turret vents, fixed small roof leak. Plus successfully accomplished many small honey-do items along the way."

"I hired Kyle for a $14,000 home remodeling project based on reviews from Angie's List and Yelp, and overall, I am satisfied with the work Kyle and his team performed and I feel like I got my money's worth. Below are my thoughts: 1. Timeliness: Kyle's crew showed up on time every day and stuck to the schedule. The entire project stayed mostly on track. Things were slightly delayed due to city inspection, but that was a factor beyond Kyle's control. So definitely an A there. 2. Quality of work - I had three major projects in this remodeling, and below are my thoughts on them: a. Conversion of a bedroom into a mudroom/entry room to garage: For some reason this new house I bought did not have an access door from garage directly into the house, so I hired Kyle to remedy this by turning a bedroom that shares a common wall with the garage into a mud room with an access door. Job involved cutting the wall open and installing a fire rated entry door, as well as removing old wall paper and repainting the room. This job was done very well and definitely an A there. b. Bathroom remodeling: I also had Kyle remove an old bathtub & tile surround and replace it with a new jacuzzi tub, new tiles and an updated tub door. We also had the toilet repositioned as well. Final quality of work was very nicely done and we were very pleased with how the new tiles turned out. Regrettably, the new bath tub got a small 1" size scratch on one of the rim and I had to touch up paint it afterwards. So A-/B+ there due to my new tub getting scratched up during tile installation. c. House electrical upgrade: I had Kyle and his crew installing an 100 amp subpanel with 2x 50 amp outlets in the garage for EV charging. I also had multiple new outlets installed throughout the house. All the newly installed outlets worked very well and I am pleased with the results. However, after all the electrical work were done, three of my outlets in the house lost power due to a "open neutral". To make a long story short, Kyle's crew tried to trouble shoot it for the better part of a day but couldn't figure out what caused it. All the worker could say is that he doesn't think it was caused by their work. As this happened at the very end of the entire remodeling project and I was uncertain whose fault it was, I ended up just letting it go. Subsequently I did more troubleshooting on my own and after several hours of trial-and-error testing using a multimeter, I found a loose neutral wire in a bathroom switch box Kyle's crew worked on. The loose neutral wire was covered up by a bunch of other wire and wire nuts in the switch box. Once that wire was reconnected, the three dead outlets became functional again. My guess is that the wire got shaken loose when Kyle's crew swap out the switches in that box with new light and fan switches, and no one realized it because that wire was buried behind other wires. I can understand how Kyle's worker missed it while trying to trouble shoot this issue. However, I'm still a bit miffed that I end up having to fix this problem myself. Thus, while the newly installed outlets are great, I am not too thrilled with the fact that his worker knocked a wire loose while changing out bathroom switches and couldn't fix the problem. So on this part of the project, I would give Kyle's team an A on the new outlets and C for causing collateral damage on my other outlets that I had to fix myself. 3. Conclusion - other than the problems with the loose neutral wire and the scratch to the new tub noted above, everything else went smoothly. Thus, in light of the scope of this remodeling project, I decided that these two issues are minor and don't detract too much from the overall success. Thus, I ended up giving Kyle and his crew an A- overall."

"Fred and his staff/crew started off as contractors and ended up becoming family. They were punctual, committed and worked diligently, purposefully and safely during covid all while respecting our family dynamic and space with kids, schooling at home, etc. We could not have asked for a better experience with such an important, long-awaited and much overdue project. We are grateful for making the choice we did, and have since brought Fred and his crew back to create a hutch/wine station, install new exterior dutch door and create functional laundry room. They exceed our expectations and we are fortunate to be under the Deco Construction umbrella for the rest of our needs!"

"Prior to engaging the professional services of INA Kitchens, we did a large due diligence, and we met with 4 additional home remodeling companies that ended up with 4 different estimates of our remodeling project. After we met with Eran, we decided to select INA Kitchens for the work. Eran is a truly professional and skilled person with no nonsense of any kind. Eran finished our remodeling project on time and his overall price was 80% less than the other ones. During the time of the remodeling, Eran was supervising each and every stage of the work. At the end we are excited about the final results. The team of workers were nice, honest, and left the house each day in a clean manner. We are currently planning to have another remodeling project at our house and we absolutely will not shop around for any other contractor! Eran and INA Kitchens will be the only ones we will call!!"

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Long Beach, CA

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
