"After climbing on the roof during numerous rain storms to apply Henry's tar I knew it was time for a new roof. I contacted 6 different roofing companies for estimates. It was really surprising to see the differences in the bids and the professionalism of the men who came out to see the roof and to measure. I picked Jon and Above It All Roofing. Jon's a vet, very straight forward and provided a detailed bid and good follow up. A new roof is a big messy job but Above It All managed it well. Jon, was not just a sales guy, he was on site every day, cleaning up, getting material up on the roof and helping his crew. It was really comforting to know the person who bid the job was there everyday keeping it moving. We were very happy with the process and the final job. We went with Boral Cedarlite tile and the roof looks great and passed the 1st heavy rain test too. The city inspector was also impressed..he said it was an A+ job. "California roof experts is a highly professional company. The first time I received a phone call, after requesting help from Angie’s list, they called and left a very nice message. I returned their call and we had a very nice conversation about what needed to be done. We arranged for an inspection/estimate and they were on time - they were very professional. They explained everything, they were not rushing me and it was a very nice experience. I felt very confident with them. After a second estimate from another company did not go well at all, we went ahead and went with california roofing experts. This was a metal roof of a mobile home that was very old and in need of a good cleaning and protection with sealant. They did an excellent - excellent job. They were on time and they were professional. We got pictures before and after and were amazed at the difference. We are so glad we chose them. And we’re glad they could work on a mobile home. "I have signed a contract with them; they told me a tentative date (when I spoke to Bill Jordan) for around the end of November, and I received a contract in the mail from them requesting a signature. They told me they have to have a contract before they can put us on the schedule, so we signed the contract and faxed it back to them and have found out that the date has been pushed back to the end of December. I signed the contract initially and sent the contract in and asked for an approximate date, and he initially told me they were scheduling us towards the end of November. We faxed our copy back in so we could be put on the schedule, and mailed a hard copy as well. I asked for a signed copy of the contract with a representative signature, but again it didn?t have the approximate dates on the contract and so we asked for it again and received another contract with some additional wording that had the approximate dates but said ?weather permitting?. Now I have a copy with the dates and additional wording that wasn?t on the contract we signed, and I would just like to get the work done closer to the dates Bill said, rather than December 28th. We?re worried about this because of a potential weather situation with El Nino, as we have an old roof and we?re both retired seniors. It?s a small house and a relatively small contract and we would like to have them work on getting us in there earlier, closer to the end of November or earlier if possible. We do understand that these are approximate dates, but the first date Bill mentioned is around the end of November and we would like to see it closer to then or even earlier if they can fit us in."

"I thought George and his crew did an excellent job in painting the house. In the beginning he said it would take 3-4 days and it came in at three. He told me in detail how he does his painting jobs and what I needed to do to prepare. He began with a complete washdown of the house. Then all windows and non painted surfaces were completely masked. Places where the stucco was pealing and cracked were repaired. There were places where the wood parts of the house were damaged, and these were patched and repaired . Several times he walked me thru the site and showed me his progress. At the end of the job we walked the perimeter of the house, and George showed me what he did and answered any questions that I had. Cleanup afterwards was thorough. It was a really good job. I don't know if this review is expected to cover the roofing job that George also did for me, so I'm going to discuss that also. Because of the circumstances of this house, we decided to do a patching job of the roof rather than a complete whole new roof. George determined that there were four areas requiring patches including patches to the subroofing wood. He said it would take a day, which it did. The crew removed the faulty subroof wood and replaced it with new wood. He had already painted the wood, with paint from the prior house painting job. The wood then was covered with the standard roofing materials. The rim that was removed that wraps over the facial wood was replaced. In one area a piece of the facial board had to be replaced and repainted. The whole roof was then painted with a sealant that should extend the life of the roof for several years. All in all an excellent job."
