"Mottern did a fantastic job designing and installing a large flagstone-on-concrete patio for us. The work included excavating and leveling the site, pouring and re-enforcing the slab, and selecting and purchasing the stone, brick and other materials. In addition to the patio, Mottern also filled in an approx. 12 sq/ft section of brick wall where a door had been converted to a window. The filled-in brick and mortar matches the original 50-year old wall perfectly. Overall, the entire Mottern crew was prompt, responsive, professional, and very skillful. "Went very well.  VRN Masonry is extremely customer focused and communicated well via Angie's list messenger (which worked all for me) and via phone.  We met for 2 design phases.  Clear cut estimate in which I confirmed our discussions.  I was unsure of concrete steps or replacing with wooden steps that were previously there.  VRN Masonry assisted in deciding and designing the concrete steps.  The job was professional and the workers were did a great job.   I would highly recommend.  In addition the estimate was on par or below 3 other estimates.

"The work was done well overall, but I had to remove some large concrete pieces from the sloping areas around the edges. The original diggers had buried these close to the surface, which would have made landscaping impossible. This was not Jerry's fault, as they did not follow his instructions to break these up, and add them to the substrate rock under the patio base. There were delays due to the very bad weather, out of his control, but the re-scheduling needs could have been communicated better, in my opinion."
