"I contacted Above Roofing at the beginning of April 2016.  Robert showed up exactly on time, and was very professional.  The estimate process actually began inside the house up in the attic.  Robert was checking for ventilation and the condition of the wood decking.  Above Roofing was the only contractor to do this (very impressed).  Robert then spent a good 45 minutes on the roof going over everything with a fine tooth comb.  Please note, that only half of the contractors we had out got on the roof.  In my opinion how can a contractor provide a good estimate if they don't do a complete inspection.  Needless to say, those contractors were immediately cut.  Robert found some flashing issues along with why we had wood rot next to the gutter.  The gutter was cut too short when it was installed 18 years ago.  Robert gave me an estimate on the spot and spent a good deal of time discussing his company's process for installation.  Again I was very impressed and it was evident that this is a company that takes a great deal of pride in their work.  This is exactly what I was looking for considering that I'm not on the roof, and honestly would have no idea what I was looking at anyway.  I will say that Above Roofing is not the cheapest path to go, however, you get what you pay for.  Plus the last thing I wanted was to have a leak...by that time it's way too late.  Additionally, Robert told me that the job could take up to 3 days.  He was the only contractor to tell me this....the other ones told me one day.  Again, what's another 2 days to ensure a quality job.  Furthermore, Robert was setting expectations up front which I appreciated. <br>On the day of the job, the crew showed up on time and got right to work.  We had some weather in the area, so they only worked for one day (about 40% of the job was complete).  However, Above Roofing is methodical and they make sure the house is weather proof before leaving the site.  The crew returned on Monday, and had the job done by the end of the day.  Very well done plus their clean up process is very thorough.  I didn't find one nail in the landscaping, but that wasn't surprising given how careful they were around the plants.  The only time I found nails was after the dumpster was removed.  However, these were under the dumpster...I wouldn't expect the crew to find those any way.  Robert came back out to walk the property with me one last time, and he found a few areas that didn't meet his standards (did I mention his standards are very high).  A small crew was out the next day, and they wrapped up quickly.  Overall, I am very pleased with Robert and the Above Roofing team.  As I mentioned before, they are not the cheapest operation but I'm impressed with the quality.  I've recommended them to all my neighbors, and my next door neighbor used them as well. <br> <br>"

"Fantastic, I am very happy. I have to admit that never having done this before, I was extremely concerned about the chemicals being used and probably worried about it more than I needed to. Steve was excellent about all my questions more than once, and the guys who came out were very helpful, too, wanting to do whatever they could to address my concerns so I was feeling better about the whole thing. I will tell you up front that if you have streaks, do use this service. It looks like I re-roofed my house!!! I cannot believe the difference. I had a great roof that had many years to go on it, but it looked terrible and affected the overall appearance of my home tremendously. Now everything looks incredibly clean and maintained because the roof is clean. About the chemicals, all we did was to hose down the areas where the downspouts were. I even had a beautiful, prized hydrangea bush that I was pretty convinced would be affected, but it turned out it was totally fine. And it was right at the bottom of a downspout. The one downspout that I forgot to pay attention to and hose down (which the guys do help with hosing things down, but I wanted to do extra) ... did have some grass that was affected. But it was only a small amount and even though I was super concerned about the effect it would have on my landscaping, it was nothing like I thought and 100% totally worth it for the outcome. I will work with Steve again in years to come when my roof develops issues again, and I am fully confident he will be in business because it's a great service and he knows how to meet his customers needs and concerns. Truly fabulously happy with this service and so glad I called him. I hated looking at the roof every time I viewed my house from the street ... but now I take my time pulling out of the drive just so I can look at how clean and amazingly new it looks. Honestly, it looks like a brand new roof. Worth every single penny!!!"

"I was very pleased with the quote I received, and generally satisfied with the overall experience of having the roof work performed.  There was a substantial delay from when our roof was quoted to when the work was actually done - mainly due to some early snow in November of 2014 and some scheduling pains.  There are things that you can't really control, so I'm not going to take marks off of the Punctuality score.    The roof is beautiful.  We've gotten lots of compliments from neighbors and friends.  I haven't found a single nail or other debris in my yard, either.  So kudos for doing a fantastic job on the roof!! <br /> The original score of a B for Responsiveness stems from general lack of communication on the skylight selection and installation.  Since the skylights were to be installed in a bedroom, we requested factor-installed window shades.  We were given the dimension of the skylight but didn't realize that the venting skylight of this dimension does not allow for a manual operated blackout shade.  We requested a blackout shade, and were not told that they were not an option for the window being ordered.   The shades selection was "finalized" when we were told that the solar powered window shades were $300 more expensive than the manual shades because they are solar powered require an RF chip, etc. to operate.   We were not told that the blackout shade was not an option at this point, either. <br /> It was only after the windows were installed (and the holes cut into the sub roof) were we aware that venetian blinds were ordered with the skylights.  These blinds don't offer much in terms of room-darkening.  At that point we were informed that the black out shades were not an option for our window make and model.  And to make the skylights work in this room, we will have to buy some after market black out shades, in addition to what we have.  <br /> Since the skylights were not part of the original roof quote, the details of our order were flushed out in face to face conversations with Jeremy and via text message.  I would have preferred to have seen a separate quote, stating exactly what was being ordered.  In hind sight, I wish I would have been more adamant in requiring it, instead of an "invoice correction" at the end of the job.  If anything I've learned from my lesson - as this is the first time I've worked with a contractor on a big project like this as a home owner.  The skylights themselves are beautiful and vent the room well, and Jeremy did an excellent job on the installation. <br /> <br /> ** Update:  After submitting my review, my final cost was adjusted down to compensate us for the cost of after market blinds that should meet our needs.  Thus, all grades are updated to A's....  Thanks, Jeremy!"

He got us the bid for the new roof, stopped over to go over the details and explain the process, and then obtained for us a bid for new gutters and downspouts. He coordinated his work with that of our asbestos roof removal contractor and the gutter subcontractor. Patrick's employees are non-nonsense skilled workers. They completed the roof installation in two days without interruption. Cleaned up beautifully - no nails or other debris left in the lawn or elsewhere on the property. Patrick cares a lot about doing the job well and is very attentive. He knows his business. As I mentioned earlier, we had to get a specially-licensed contractor to remove our asbestos roof shingles, and Patrick was available to help us understand those bids. It really was a pleasure working with Keenan Homes and I could not recommend it more highly."
