"It took a couple months to schedule the work but at each piece (estimate, electrical, excavation and installation) they called ahead, arrived on time, did all the work required with professionalism and courtesy. They even volunteered to clear the snow from my driveway by shovel when my machine wouldn't start. "From start to finish I could not be happier.   I had an idea (a rough idea) of what I wanted to do.    Dan sat with me (listened with patience) and helped me work through the details of my project, he talked to me about what was important and what was not... after he helped me design the building and details that went along with it.    Along the way he worked with me to make adjustments to the design, as well as offered ideas and solutions to reduce my cost (he saved me about 15%).   There were things I didn't think about when I put my plans in place, Dan communicated with me along the way allowing me to think through the changes as well as the pros/cons of doing so.   There were changes we made along the way that make a lot of sense now that the building is complete.   Amazing work!!! <br /> To find a builder who can complete the work start to finish, stay true to his commitments, and more importantly listen to you is not easy to find.   Dan fits this mold. <br /> I have worked with at least 10 builders in the last 20 years...   this is the first review I have written.   The reason I am writing this review is Dan did an awesome job!    From start to finish communication was great, the work was awesome, and the price was right.    With 100% confidence I would recommend Dan and Patriot Builders to take on a small project to building a high end 6,000 sq foot home.   I am attaching my personal cell phone if you would like to personally talk to me - Frank (913) 461-7217  I will be more then happy to show you the work he did. <br /> Dan, thank you!   Its nice to work with folks who get stuff done! <br />"

"My back yard was very uneven and lumpy and was about 4-6 higher than the sidewalk. They removed the fire pit and clothes line bracket, scraped and leveled the back yard. They worked with the sprinkler company who had to come and extend the line and add a head. They had to remove a number of roots from trees previously removed that were buried. Reinstalled the fire pit in a different location and the clothes line bracket. In the front yard pulled back a mulch bed to scrape and level next to the driveway, replaced the mulch bed and scraped the ditch to give me a easier slope for cutting the grass. Put down topsoil, had a very nice even grade. Came back the next day and put down the Hydro seed. Gave me 2 pages of instructions on how to maintain the new and quot;babyand quot; grass that would come up. They were very courteous, answered all my questions during the process and when finished asked if I had any other questions . A pleasure to work with. I was very pleased with their attention to detail in both the work and the clean up. Cutting my grass just got a lot easier. <br />"

"At the end of a  very warm June 2011 our first floor water heater busted when we were not at the cottage.  The water pump was not turned off, and therefore, the water tank just kept making hot water.  A friend who checks on the cottage periodically walked into this disaster.  The first week we had a contractor that we were unhappy with and then called Kelly Construction.  Mike Kelly the owner took the "bull by the horns" so to speak and charged ahead.  Most of the repairs were covered by insurance, but we had extra work that needed to be done which came to $9,500.  Total job was about $36,000.  They did a fabulous job in reconstructing ¾ of the inside of our cottage.  There was water, mold and warping damage to floors, subfloors, paneling, doors, walls, ceilings and cupboards bathroom and kitchen.  In the crawl space the support beams had mainly mold damage and the insullation had water damage.  Carpeting and linoleum were ruined and needed replacing.  The cottage needed to be repainted ceiling to floor.  Mike pointed out some structure issues:  front house beam and bathroom floor supports which we had him fix correctly;  front doorwall was leaking at the floor rotting the floorboards; large picture window was leaking in water; and there were issues in the attic which we had his company handle.  (These were some of the out-of-pocket costs.)  Mike explained what had to be done and how it was going to be fixed.  Mike Kelly handled the demolision and reconstruction as if it were his own cottage.  He was terrific.  He had a pleasant and caring manner.  He went above and beyond the duties of a contractor to make sure everything was done correctly and to our satisfaction.  There were a few minor issues and he came back and fixed them until they met with our satisfaction.  He stands by his work. <br />"
