"We could not ask for a better experience with a painter -- Mr. Alden was prompt, efficient and clean. He is a consummate professional and a true gentleman. We had him working on our house while we were away and he sent photos of his progress with regular updates. We heartily recommend Alden Painting for all your painting needs. "John is a true professional, he did work on our second floor opening a wall, installing railings and adding trim work with new doors to our bedrooms. He was a pleasure to work with from bid to completion and the work quality was outstanding and he cleaned up so well you would not have know how big the job was! We would recommend John for any job big or small."

"I had areas of dry rot that Dana fixed. He found more areas while doing repairs and fixed all of it quickly and perfectly. When I called Dana to get a quote he was in the area and come to see me in 10 minutes. Other professionals either didn't return my call or told me my job was too small. They wanted to build houses. One told me he would do it in the fall when his large jobs were done. Very pleased with Dana and his work. I'll be hiring him again if I need more work done."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Manchester, VT

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
