"Mike came out and installed several can lights in our bedroom. He was super helpful in the placement and type and did excellent work. We will definitely call Mike for any other electrical work we have done!"

"I was up late planning and budgeting for a potential remodel project and I reached out to Pacific Home Electric. Even at 9:30 at night, Troy responded promptly and helped me with my budget. He was absolutely professional and went out of his way to make sure I was asking the right questions. IMO, the best people to work with are those that help you be a better version of yourself. I have not began work yet but I know that he would be my first choice."

"We requested a bid for installation of recessed kitchen lighting. What we got was an estimate for the cost of rewiring the knob-and-tube in our entire house, plus the cost of the fixtures. The rewiring alone was estimated over $18,000. Our home inspector informed us about knob-and-tube when we moved in, as well as the excellent condition of the wiring. Adding LED fixtures would have been a low draw on the system and we have since gotten a far better bid from another electrician. Our impression was that we were given a hard sell to spend almost $20,000 on a big project we did not ask for. There was no alternative solution offered. Additionally, the price quoted for the fixtures was very higher, higher than any I could find on a basic Internet search for the same fixtures, so big price gouging there on the materials. I am confident that these are skilled electricians, but as a homeowner and consumer, I felt that we were not heard and that the company, as represented by the initial contact with the lead electrician who seems to primarily be a salesman, is interested only in big-ticket jobs. If you need a big commercial project done, you may find Seatown to be your best choice. As a homeowner, I felt like the company's next prospective sale. We won't hire this company."

"This is the second time I hired SeaTown Electric to replace lighting fixtures in my home. They came right out assessed my need and came a week later prepared to install the fixture I needed in my bathroom. Colby did a neat and careful installation and when he was inspecting my electrical panel, I let it be known that I was also in the market for a new furnace for my manufactured home. SeaTown then send Cody out to assess my rusting old furnace, and asked if I wanted him to look for one that would fit the small space where my old furnace was sitting, I told him yes, and he called that day with an estimate for the new furnace and its installation. Great guys at SeaTown and Kaitlyn, too who helped me figure out the electrical jargon. Don't understand? Call and talk to Kaitlyn. She'll clear things up for you."

Small jobs welcome

"We have hired this company many times over the last 5 years. They have done remodel work for us. Upgraded our electrical panel. They have moved exterior overhead wires that were required by code. They have ran new electrical for our updated heating and cooling system. They always do a great job and I would recommend them to any homeowner needing upgrades or service calls on their existing electrical systems."

"Aaron did excellent job in replacing my Electrical panel. He kept me updated during the process. I would use RCM services again!! I got other quotes for the job, which were all totally over priced by double the cost! It is great to know companies like RCM where you don’t feel like you are over paying for service!! Thank you"

"Viktor was fantastic and has helped us with multiple projects around the house, including EV 240V, splitting lights on a circuit, adding more outlets, and even helping us with resolving heating issues and explaining/labeling outlets on the same circuit. Highly recommend!"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Maple Valley, WA

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
