"Mr. Bemis called me the day before the date scheduled to come back to do the actual  timer repair and assessment and repair of irrigation lines. He explained that he had contracted the flu and was unable to make the appointment the following day.  He apologized and scheduled another appointment for the following week.  I thanked him for calling me and assured him that the following week was fine with me as long as he was feeling better.  At that time he arrived on time with his foreman.  We had arranged earlier that he would charge $40.00 per man hour to do the work.  They fixed the timer and checked the drip lines, telling me what to look out for in the future that would indicate that  a new main pipe would need to be replaced.  
Rather than charging me the agreed-upon rate of $40.00 per man hour ($80.00 total), he just charged me $50.00 total.  I was very pleased with his work and his work ethic.  I will definitely call him again for any future irrigation needs.
