"I contacted Jae Custom Stone to see if they could demo and install Stone steps. Jason came out provided and accurate estimate and completed the project. His workmanship and finish quality was AMAZING!!!! I couldn't believe how good the design and finish was. Jason expertise exceeded what I thought the finish product looked liked. Then Jason performed a follow-up a few weeks later to check if I was still satisfied with the finish. Outstanding customer service from Jae's Custom Stone"

Small jobs welcome

"This family-owned business is exceptional in every way. Nick Nelson was the one who oversaw the work at our home. He is super responsive and a highly-creative problem solver. Kim helped repair our two-story stone fireplace, and then found a solution to avoid having to cut into a separate stone fireplace in the bedroom. Could not have asked for better professionalism and excellence. Highly recommend."

"our front brick steps have sunk about 9 inches. They used hydraulic jacks to lift the concrete slabs. Then drilled into the foundation and tied into it with rebar. Then pumped cement back into keep the step-slabs level. They them repointed all of the steps. You can see the before and after pics here."

Masons charge between $70 and $110 per hour. A mason may have a minimum service fee ranging from $80 to $300. Most bricklayers offer free estimates and charge only if you proceed with the project. A professional repointing lasts 20 to 30 years without maintenance and extends up to 50 years when maintained diligently. This process protects your brickwork using high-quality materials that ensure lasting performance and durability. Consistent upkeep preserves its strength and appearance, providing enduring protection and enhancing your home’s overall structural integrity for decades.

You know your house needs repointing when you notice clear signs such as cracked, flaking, or missing mortar and visible discoloration on the brick surfaces. Additional indicators include loose bricks, water damage, and gaps between the brick joints that compromise the overall integrity of the structure. Addressing these issues promptly protects your investment and sustains the durability and curb appeal of your home.

A house needs repointing to preserve both its structural integrity and visual appeal. Mortar acts as a vital bonding agent that holds the bricks securely together. When the mortar deteriorates, it exposes the structure to water infiltration and further decay, increasing the risk of costly repairs. Repointing stops decay and reinforces the exterior, ensuring long-term protection.
