"Chase from Excel Renovation was great to work with regarding our residential garage roof leak. He was very personable and there was excellent/ professional communication in talking through the potential issue and then scheduling a time to meet. Chase ended up starting with a simpler repair approach first, re-fastening and re-sealing a roof flashing, which we agreed was the right thing to do for our type of roof leak (very small leak) and for this cold time of year (late Nov). He was very honest in what he thought was the likely issue and digging deeper right away in our case, instead of just resealing and testing first, may cause more harm than good. He would not take any money for the repair…I tried though. :-) He said to keep an eye on it during the upcoming rain and snow melt(s) and he could always dig deeper if needed in the spring, removing interior sheetrock and then applying water with a hose over suspected area on the roof. If you’re looking for an honest company that won’t steer you wrong, give these guys a call. I highly recommend this company and I would definitely work with them again!"

"This was an A-team from start to finish, and was also the low bid on the project (a top quality metal roof) to boot. Dave is the consummate professional and fields a top notch crew. We have a small but EXTREMELY complex roof with two dormers and a chimney, a very intricate project (especially for metal) requiring much detail work. Due to planking gaps the old roof was covered with OSB, then membrane and roofing. Two flat sections required rubber membrane. Austad hit the trifecta of fast, good, and ... well, not exactly cheap, but again a highly competitive bid. I had visited some of their referenced work and spoken personally with one other very satisfied customer."

"It couldn’t have gone better! The crew came tore off the old roof. After they got the old roof off a storm front came through. These guys were up on the roof with a giant tarp strapping it down makin it water tight and I never had a single leak. It’s a pity that it’s a flat roof because it’s truly a work of art and no one else can see it. I’m exceptionally pleased that they have offered to come back in the spring to make sure that everything is still OK. I only have one roof , but if I had another I wouldn’t think twice about hiring them again. They were easy to work with and really know their business."

"Roofing was fine, but when I called because of a leak 3 months after the warentee period, I was told the rate per roofer was $185 for the first hour and $98 per hour after that. No flexibility or willingness to work with me at all. The leak was not new just newly discovered. Does not matter. Legally they may be right but this attitude is not what customer service I want to have in my life. They will not get additional work from me."

You don't even see the gutters on the house, because they look like a decorative crown molding, and the gutters match the trimwork perfectly. Tom was very professional about everything, and he was quick to point out how they do things differently from other gutter contractors. He was meticulous about his work, and it showed. In addition, he returned phone calls promptly and wanted to make sure that we were completely satisfied with everything. He was very forthcoming with references to other homes in the neighborhood where he had installed gutters. To our surprise, he had installed gutters on dozens of homes close to ours. We particularly liked that he and his partner, who both own the company, do the jobs themselves. We cannot say enough about cce as a company. They are a rare find in the construction industry, where most companies overpromise and underdeliver."

The bidding process went well, with all planning of all phases throughly covered in our negotiations. In all fairness to the other companies whom we approached, they all had solid reputations and vast experience in their field; but Bear Roofing was able to bid at a noticeably lower price. Bear’s lower price doesn’t reflect a use of cheaper materials or other cost cutting measures which should affect the quality of their work, but Bear Roofing had a lower apparent overhead and this was reflected in their bid to us. After the actual work has begun; and more importantly after the entire project has been completed, we will review how Bear Roofing followed through on their commitment to us, and how our faith in them played out."
