"<p>Luke contacted us two days before the they planned to start the job and he and his company arrived on time the first day of the job.  They began by clearing the workspace around the pool deck which involved moving mulch and protecting shrubs, drip system lines, the pool coping and the pool cover.  They broke up the existing concrete, removed the rubble, and compacted the existing soil base.  They placed several inches of road base on top of the compacted soil and compacted it until they had a firm foundation for the new slab.  In the process of breaking up and removing the existing concrete, they managed to save the existing decorative aluminum drain channel which they reused in the replacement slab.  This speaks highly of the care they used in removing the existing concrete.  </p> <p>After compacting the road base, they formed the sides, set the drain channel, and set the re-bar for the new slab (including epoxying the rebar into the existing slab).  Because the release agent color was a special order, we experienced a short delay followed by a weather and a holiday delay.  However, once they started pouring concrete, the job went smoothly and they finished the slab, including the coloring and stamping, the next day.  They returned the following day to pressure wash the excess release agent off of the slab and remove the forms.  After finishing the basic task, including removing their work debris from the site, they moved the mulch back into place, smoothed out the dirt around the area, and left the area in better shape than when they arrived.  The new section of pool deck is beautiful however, as we expected, the color is somewhat darker than the existing deck (which faded extensively due to sun bleaching).  We are examining options to darken the existing deck area.</p> <p>Luke and company were very easy to work with, very professional, and always courteous.  In our effort to obtain multiple quotes, we delayed several times and had several changes in the work request however, Luke was always easy to work with and courteous.  His professionalism is excellent as is the care he used in protecting the surroundings.</p> <p>I highly recommend Always Quality Concrete to anyone needing concrete work, especially when it needs extra care to protect the surroundings.  In the Navy, we would say Bravo Zulu Luke!! <br /> <br /><br /> <br /></p> <br />"
