"Pedro was excellent from the time we started communicating to the completion of the work. He’s polite on time and very thorough from start to finish. I will be having him do some additional work. "

"I wanted straighter/level deck & edges of a 97 year old slate roof before removing the slate, replacing the deck, and replacing the slate with asphalt shingle. My thought was to prop low spots in the wavy front edge in front, and prop the sagging corners in back; then, to build triangular braces similar to one extant on the house, like many on houses of similar age and design in the neighborhood. The idea of propping the low spots was dismissed, discussed again, and eventually dismissed as unnecessary; the low spots were forced up by hand, and fascia boards attached. While I was told the weight of the new roof might drop the level of the low spots again, this may have been more than anticipated; in retrospect it may have been preferable to force the low spots higher than could be done by hand, as the discrepancies from linear in the edges of the roof have, I think, caused inability to properly interface the drip edges and guttering at many places. I would though hire Dave's again."

"On-time and efficient. Came out to quote and fixed on the spot. Needed to come back next day as new hardware was required for some closet doors. Excellent hire."

"Chase was great to work with! Would highly recommend. Job was to replace a ceiling light fixture in a 2 story foyer. His prices were competitive. His communication was top-tier. When the job was done, the new fixture didn’t cover the same area of the ceiling as the old one, and there was a slight ‘ring’ on one side of the ceiling. Chase brought the issue to my attention and offered to fix it at no extra cost (going back up on ladder and painting). Very impressive service and he clearly wanted to do a good job. Use GrizzCo with confidence. "

They back their work & if your not satisfied they will not leave until the customer is satisfied. We would definitely recommend J R Construction"

"Truly a skilled, quality carpenter with an artist's eye! Richard built us beautiful, safe steps in the garage, then followed with gorgeous double sliding barn doors in the basement. We had a nasty roof leaf behind a wall that damaged floor and subfloor. Voila, he fixed it all and found poor construction around a patio door that is now properly reconstructed. We are excited for next up, a reclaimed barn beam mantel and stacked stone around the fireplace. What an amazing magician!"

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Marysville, OH

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
