"Right from the start everything went like "clockwork". Communications and scheduling were timely and accurate. Marsha kept us informed every step of the way. The estimate for the job was fair and reasonable and we signed on and scheduled the job. Showing up on time, communicating necessary information such as delivery of supplies and job scheduling are important. They followed through perfectly. The job was done in one day, the crew was professional, experienced and very clean. We are delighted with our new patio and we do not hesitate to recommend Exotic Pavers to anyone. So, do yourself a big favor, call them for an estimate...you'll be very glad you did!!"

"Wonderful experience.Don was very nice and very professional. He was early for the scheduled job time. Walked around the house with me, and talked through everything with me. I received some great insight on my issues. He was very honest, Don said I didn't need to get ant treatment, as he saw no live trails. He gave me suggestions to resolve the ant problem if they returned. Very Reasonable pricing compared to other companies. Don even returned the next day free of charge, I noticed the yellow jackets inside, right after he left. I noticed that a few yellow jackets had actually gotten in through my attic entry way, which was next to the siding entry point where the nest was. He sprayed and taped off the entry point. Very nice company and employees, great prices. Would recommend to other home owners!"

"It was a fantastic process from start to finish. Erik, the owner, was extremely easy to work with, developed a beautiful plan for the patio, and carried everything out in the most professional way possible. <br /> He clearly has excellent planning skills, experience and attention to detail and it all came though in the finished product and in his communication with me throughout the process. <br /> I was hoping that the patio would be done in time for a party I had planned, and despite the short timeline, the job was done in plenty of time. I wanted a high quality area to spend time in my yard, and that is exactly what I have. I was tempted to jump up and down when I saw it finished! <br />"

"After the plants were installed, nobody came buy to check how they were doing or if we were satisfied. No follow up service was offered. The plants were almost all excellent and mainly well chosen for their location, but they were planted without new soil or fertilizer in the existing clay. If you want a good landscape plan and excellent specimens, then this a good choice. If you want a complete service with followup, then this not a good choice."

"I like the fact the way they keep in touch. I travel a lot but there's couple of things that we thought were gonna happen and they didn't but if I would to call him he would immediately came out. I would recommend him absolutely. So, what they did do is really have some plants and everything and he really took into consideration that I like gardening but I don't have a lot of time. So, I was very adamant that I wanted lawn maintenance plan. I would definitely use them and he's a really, really nice guy and I thought the price they charge was a very fair price."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Mason, MI

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
