"By far the best business experience I have had in a long time. Where to start, Paul the salesman was great, he came out for a quote no hassle. Looked at the roof and quoted me quickly. I told him I had another company I was comparing to and would get back to him. No pressure tactics. Communication was consistent and clear. Booked appointment and was able to have an install date within a week! Now fast forward to the install day. Kevin is the man (I assume foreman) was at the job 45 mins before his team was supposed to get there to go over everything with me. He explained what he would be doing and if anything throughout the day changed he would not only text/call but text pictures of everything. A few pieces of plywood needed to be replaced and Boom pictures came to my phone of where and the old pieces to see the damaged ones. He kept his word all the way to the point that i had a tree company coming to quote me on taking trees down and i received text messages from Kevin that they were there in the back quoting my other job. Lastly i had an old dish on the house which i requested to come off. Not only did they take the dish off and remove the wire but the Vines that were climbing up the lines one of his guys was ripping those out and off for me. All in all i can't say how impressed i am with this team. They truly went above and beyond and when you spend a good amount of money on companies to work at your home it can make you nervous on what type of outcome it will be. I have no doubts about this company and recommend if you ever need anything roof related to please contact them for your job. "Don contacted me to arrange the best times for his crew to arrive every morning.  They arrived on time every day (weather permitting) and acted very professionally.  When they needed my input on something they asked and described exactly what they would be doing every step of the way.  The trim around the doors and windows is all custom aluminum and we have already gotten lots of compliments on their work.  The new porch is perfect since the old one was pretty rotten.  I highly recommend their services and will not hesitate to call them again in the future when I need more work done. <br />"

Joe responded to my request for a quote immediately, scheduled a visit within a day of my contacting him and gave me a quote the day he visited to look at the project (no other contractor I contacted was able to give me a quote right away). I had several questions before the demolition and build began and he called, texted or emailed me right back with answers whenever I contacted him. His crew arrived on time every morning, were professional and worked very hard the entire time they were on site - they were never sitting around. There was a little rot that needed to be repaired when the old deck was removed and the crew did a beautiful job cleaning that up. The composite deck they built is beautiful and we've used it every beautiful-weather day since it's been finished. I'd recommend Excellent Exterior and Deck Company unreservedly!"

"I was really pleased that after he installed the exhaust fan we had a very severe storm and rain came in onto the stove.  The vent bought for the roof needed to be replaced and he came very quickly to do that work the next day, which was on a Sunday.  He was very polite,  responsive and knew what he was doing.  I would say he was great and have recommended his services to others."

"The chimney doctors did a great job inspecting. I do not take issue with them because they did a great job. They found multiple issues with the chimney and even some in the vent in the furnace. The furnace exhaust was not properly tied into the flume and could have been dangerous in the future. They did a absolutely outstanding job finding all the issues and explaining them to me. If i purchase the house i will request them to do the work.   <br /> They called and arrived an hour earlier than we originally scheduled which was fine for us. They were already working on the roof when we arrived. The whole process was about an hour and went great. <br /> The negative aspects come from the customer relations contact. I looked this company up via angies list and got the information. I contacted the email provided with this business. I didn't know that the inspection was going to cost money. I initially asked for a estimate of repair for the chimney and an estimate to clean it. Turns out the "estimate" was actually an inspection that cost me 375$. Im glad I had my checkbook because I was surprised at the end. At no point in the conversations was that brought up with the contact via email. I know because im double checking it now as I type this. For accuracy and transparency here is the copy and paste from my emails. If you see that I am wrong i will correct this review. I should mention I am a disabled veteran with memory problems buying my first home so this is all new to me. <br /> ____EMAIL START____ <br /> Me:"Hello, I am purchasing a home and recently had it inspected. It was suggested that I get this repaired soon. Can you tell me about roughly how much it would cost to repair the masonry and seal up one of the flumes, it's leaking water into the home. Please see attached home inspectors report for images. Also, separately how much is a chimney cleaning? Thanks so much, I found your information from Angie's list." <br />  CD:" I will give this Report to the owner of Chimney Doctors, to see if he can <br />  give you an Estimate of how much it will cost. Usually he has to go out <br />  to look at the Chimney to see what the condition of the Chimney. I will <br />  contact you as soon as I find out. <br />    Also, I need to know what Units run up the Chimney; a Fireplace, Woodstove, <br />  Pellet Stove, or Furnace? Then I can give you a price on the cleaning of the <br />  Chimney." <br /> Me:"Woodstove and I understand that he needs to look at it I just wanted a ballpark at the moment. Also it's one of those kinds that go into the basement for coal removal or whatever." <br />   CD: "Tom the owner said that he recommends you have a Level 2 Inspection done on the <br />  chimney and each flue that runs up the chimney. He said he can give you an estimate <br />  for the work that needs to be done from the roof up, but he can not see the back part <br />  of the chimney, and he does not know what kind of damage is inside the chimney. <br />  So, He would recommend you schedule an appointment for him to go out and inspect it. <br />  Please give us a call and we can get you on the schedule." <br /> (Following emails are for scheduling, fast forward to second chain) <br /> CD "I'm sorry I forgot to give you the price of a Wood Stove cleaning <br />  it is $190.+tax. If you let me know what the other 2 flues are that <br />  run up the chimney, I can give you the price to clean them too. If you <br />  have to have them all cleaned you will receive $20.00 off the 3rd cleaning." <br /> Me: "Well, I don't own the house yet so I don't need the cleaning. I just wanted to know what it would cost to clean and a separate estimate for the Chimney repair so I know what I'm getting into. I'm in contract to buy the home at the moment and was told by my home inspector to get a chimney professional give me an estimate" <br /> _______________END EMAILS______________________ <br /> From that email i received no response and got a call about 8:30 am the morning of the inspection and it was just to confirm the appointment.I double checked the correspondence. Let me be clear what my concern is here. I wanted an estimate of work to be given to me. Had i known that the inspection would have cost money I would have either shopped around or been prepared to fork this money over. They did a great job and i am glad i called them. "For the most part Star Roofing was great to work with. The office staff, scheduler, foreman, and workers did a great job. Worked fast and got the job done in a day. Price was exactly as quoted with nothing added. I will say that the Star Roofing employee who gave me the estimate and handled the billing for the job was rude and unprofessional. I asked about financing options and he never sent the paperwork to me resulting in a disagreement when the job was done. He became extremely argumentative and vulgar in our conversation which unfortunately destroyed the good impression I had of the many good, hardworking employees of Star Roofing. When I informed the management of Star Roofing about what had taken place I was never contacted for a followup or apology. All in all they do great work and work fast. Their price was comparable to three other roofers who gave me a quote except for one that quoted $2000 less but seemed suspect based on the other three. I felt like a roof was not something to scrimp on and based on Stars Reputation locally I went with them."
