"Over the weekend, I had the brilliant idea of attempting to install a new front door on my own without proper experience. After several hours of my own labor and a botched job and soar back to show for it, I sent Do It Right Construction an e-mail on Monday morning around 7:30am. Within an hour, I had a phone call from Chris discussing the project. I asked him to rebuild the deteriorated door frame and build a custom door jam. He asked all the right questions and gave me a more than reasonable quote to repair my work. . The very next morning, Chris and his excellent and professional team arrived at my home at their scheduled time and had the work completed with perfection within a few hours. The best part, he added alot of extra work and materials that were not quoted WITHOUT adjusting his quote. I am currently in discussions with Chris to hire him for a few other projects. On a side note: I sent 7 e-mails to other similar companies I found on here and I have yet to hear from anyone but Chris! If you are looking for a Handyman or have a construction project, stop your search here and send Chris and e-mail! He will call you back and will hold true to his word of "doing it right"!"

"Mike, the owner/installer is a great guy.  He is punctual and knows his business.  His price is very fair and reasonable probably because he offers only one type of railing.  Customer has no choice of selection of railing.  Mike will paint the railing any color you want but the style is the same. It is a very basic functional railing....which is fine if that is what you want.  A complaint I have is that the railing does not feel like it was "finished".  There are some rough spots/edges that Mike suggested I sand lightly if it is bothering me.  I would have preferred that he sand it smoothly himself at his shop before painting it.  It only took Mike and a helper 1 hour to install all four railings (which included a supporting post and drilling through a metal pole....that was very welcomed.

"We had Decks Decks Decks (DDD) remove our old porch, support the roof and install a new porch under the roof with Trex deck boards, railing and fascia. DDD took care of the permitting. They were very friendly to work with and worked straight through the job, weather permitting, without running off to other jobs. We were happy with the price we paid. Our payments were structured to make payments as the job progressed with the last payment made when the job was finished. The porch was built very structurally sound, square and level. DDD helped us choose Trex colors that matched our house very well. DDD set us up with the Trex warranty. We would highly recommend DDD to anyone that needs a deck or porch."

"Our job was difficult, particularly because the team had to work around our house elevator, which could not be compromised because my brother, who is wheelchair-bound, lives with us and uses it every day. Rick and Bob were both innovative and meticulous about the work. Their workers were polite and cleaned up after themselves every day. "This was my third time working with this contractor and each project was a pleasurable experience! As was the case with the other two, they started this project on time and finished on time! All the work was done according to strict Mount Lebanon code. They made suggestions based upon their experience i.e we wanted a six foot high shadow box fence but while Mount Lebanon code allows for a six foot high privacy fence of just about any style, they do not allow, by code, a six foot high shadowbox fence. Steve Hilpert proceeded to build us a 4 foot high shadowbox fence (the maximum height allowed by code) with a custom built 2 foot high trellis section which Mount Lebanon subsequently approved. The fence looks beautiful!
I was nervous about cutting a big hole in the wall of our addition to install the sliding glass door. Now the door looks like it has been there all along! It came out PERFECTLY!
The deck is also beautiful and solid as a rock! We had an issue with the location of our two central air conditioning units off the back of the house. The other contractors (which I found here on Angie's List as well) said they would just build over these units. Not knowing anything about central air conditioning this seemed reasonable to me. Steve was the ONLY contractor who told me that you absolutely CAN NOT block the air flow above the units! Not only that, he was honest enough to tell me that moving the units should be done by a qualified HVAC contractor. Now that is a contractor you can trust!
All work was completed on time and within budget. The same crew arrived early each day and were polite and professional. The job site was spotless at the end of each day!
