"Steven painting did a wonderful job painting the exterior of our home and staining our decks. Steven and team members Betty and Jesus were friendly, had a high attention to detail and got the job done very quickly. We live in Cascade so finding a professional for home improvement projects can be very challenging. Steven Painting was a breath of fresh air. They will be our go-to for any future painting needs."

"I was in a difficult situation needing to finish my home remodel so I could move as quickly as possible due to a divorce. Ryan and his crew provided the help I needed, when I needed it! Great work, great people! He really helped me out and could help you too!"

"Bill (owner) is one of the nicest and most respectful person I have ever met. He is such a polite gentleman. He and his employees (Wynne and Giovanni) did such a wonderful job staining our two pergolas. They showed up on time, worked hard in the heat and cleaned up the area where they worked. I would hire them again in a heart beat. Bill is very fair and reasonable with his pricing and honest to a core. You don't meet many people like Bill or at least I haven't."

"We got in touch with Paint It Green to have the exterior of our house painted. Tim provided a detailed job estimate, the three-man team arrived early each day, they worked efficiently and happily, they kept the property tidy, they did a great job prepping the house, communication was great, and the end result is outstanding! Our neighbors have complimented the work as a job well done. We’ll call Paint It Green back for other work, and will recommend them to others."

"O'connor Painting has painted the exterior of my townhouse complex. They are great to work with. Their bid was professionally done. THey agreed to divide the project in half for our budgeting constraints. So they did the first half and the crew was great. They were friendly, efficient and excellent painters. They did the power wash and found all the spots that needed caulking. The homeowners were happy with the job. <br /> Two years later, they came back to paint the other half of our units. Pretty much the same crew which, to me, is a good sign. They did the same excellent, timely job they had done on the first half. Again, the homeowners were happy. <br /> I appreciated Don O'Connor for his professionalism. On both phases, he came back several days later to make sure we were still happy after we had had a chance to look it over again. He has been willing to bring back paint when we have needed to make repairs and touch up an area. <br /> We will certainly consider O'Connor when we need to paint again. <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for exterior home or structure paint or stain projects in Melba, ID

Painting vinyl siding is a budget-friendly way to revive curb appeal without paying for new panels. As long as the boards aren’t warped, cracked, or leaking, a coat of high-quality acrylic paint can buy you another five to 10 years before replacement.

Stick to lighter shades so the siding doesn’t soak up excess heat, and prep the surface well for the paint to bond. If you’re seeing rot or moisture damage, skip the paint and plan for new siding instead.

High-quality acrylic paint is recommended for vinyl siding. Acrylic paint adheres firmly to vinyl surfaces and resists peeling and fading, providing a sleek and long-lasting finish. Ensure the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for optimal results. Your exterior painting pro has the expertise to properly prepare your siding’s surface to ensure proper adhesion.

Priming is not required if the vinyl siding remains in good condition and is properly cleaned. However, if the original color is severely faded or the panels have become porous, priming becomes essential. Priming provides a smooth, even base that improves paint adhesion and enhances durability, ensuring the acrylic finish adheres properly and lasts longer.

A paint sprayer is the quickest, most consistent way to coat vinyl siding. The fine mist reaches grooves a roller can miss and lays down an even layer in a fraction of the time. You’ll still need a brush for tight corners, but a sprayer slashes labor hours and reduces lap marks.

If you’re renting equipment, ask the supplier for a tip size made for exterior acrylics so the paint atomizes correctly and sticks to the siding.

Painted vinyl siding lasts between five and 10 years. The durability depends on the quality of the surface preparation and the local climate conditions. When the siding is thoroughly cleaned and prepped, and high-quality acrylic paint is used, the finish endures longer. In hotter regions, the lifespan may be closer to five years, while cooler climates help extend it.
