Now, let's be honest. I wasn't too excited about buying a new roof. In fact, I would have much rather taken an EPIC summer vacation. But, our insurance company had different plans. (i.e. They were going to cancel us the same day our old roof was to celebrate it's 20th trip around the sun, deeming it 'over the hill' & the recipient of the 'no love' award in the insurance world). 

However, since getting our new roof, we've signed a new policy, AND, it turns out we're going to save $4k a year. So, the roof will essentially pay for itself in two and a half years. #Yay! And, also, #DOH. Kinda kicking ourselves for waiting on that one. But, you live. You learn. 

Secondary to all of that, I must say, our house is looking mighty fine with it's stylish new top. #heygirlhey.  A couple of the neighbors have even stopped to express their aesthetic admiration.  (What they really wanted to say was: "it's about freakin' time you did something about that old, nasty roof"). True. True.

But, I digress. What, really needs to be said is that David Keefe Roofing did a fantastic job! They were professional, and friendly, and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their work. I was quite impressed that they even cleaned up all of the little bits of micro-roof-debris off the back porch and even vacuumed the pool. (If they ever decide to branch out into pool cleaning business, I would totally hire them).

OH, and they even got up in the attic to re-enforce one of the new vents.  Let's be honest: I don't really know what they were doing up there, BUT it sounded important, and you can bet the "other guys" wouldn't have gone the extra mile. Speaking of: Some of our neighbors went with one of "those guys" and ended up paying an extra couple of thousand on the back-end for plywood. (Should have read the contract). Don't let that happen to you!! And, if you do, don't say I didn't I didn't warn you. #justsaying
