"With so many roofing companies how to separate the good from the not so good, or the excellent from the good? I did my due diligence and interviewed 3 companies. Two were good one was EXCELLENT. I choose Patrick Roofing 321 541 5113. I had made a list of 20 questions or more. During his presentation, Brian one of the owners answered all before I could ask. His easy-to-understand explanation of products to be used, why they use them and how they will be used was exceptional. No aggressive sales pitch. The confidence in his teams’ workmen ship was evident in his presentation. Licensing, insurance, BBB info all available in hard copy. From the time the dumpster arrived through delivery of the products and two-day completion of a new roof the process was flawless. The workmen ship and attention to detail was exceptional. Team leader Leno and his crew worked systematically from tear down to clean up to finish product. Their estimate was on point, no money up front, who does that? Finding a company that demonstrates, honesty, integrity that values their reputation and their customer is what you get with Patrick Roofing. Sit back let them work then enjoy the security and beauty of your new roof."

"Choosing a reroofing contractor is a significant task. The cost is a major investment that affects your home value, insurance cost and its protection for many years. After interviewing several contractors, we chose RenewPro Roofing, mostly because Kevin Shetter, my RenewPro project manager, was instrumental in helping me reapply for my insurance roof damage claim that was previously denied by my insurance company. When the claim was finally approved the work was done quickly and professionally. All phases of the reroof were carefully explained. Kevin was very helpful with us understanding the reroof job and with us making the payments as the checks were received from my insurance company. They used a peel and stick premium underlayment material that is a definite improvement over older products. I was very satisfied with the roof installation and with their recommendations for a new wind mitigation inspection and new gutter installation. Kevin even got me a check for the damage to my driveway when the shingles were delivered. Yes, I would recommend RenewPro Roofing to anyone."

"In my original conversations they were prompt and attentive. I should say that between the bidding process and the installation, I moved to another state and rented the house. However, the job got scheduled and completed without too many glitches. My tenant has not complained about leaks or other issues and the house looks very good. That was all in September of last year. Then a friend of mine visited the property recently to view the house and informed me that the new fascias that were installed are unpainted. I probably should have thought of that, but didn't. And I put some blame on Bentley for not following up with me. Other than asking for payment, they were non communicative over the entire job. The other part of the problem is that while they replaced the fascia, they left in place soffits that were in very poor condition. Now maybe they don't do that, but I think it was discussed in the bidding phase. They didn't do it, and they didn't tell me that this work needed to be done. Communication is really poor with this company, although in the beginning it was really good. I eMailed them the photos attached and asked if they could make the necessary repairs a month ago and they have not responded."

"Ed and his crew are superb professionals. Every detail was explained to me beforehand. Then the work was done to exact specification even earlier than projected. Afterwards my neighbors paid compliments. Ed will definitely be doing any of my future roof work."

"Was being bullied by my insurance company to do a substandard repair to my roof. I needed an honest and knowledgeable roofer to provide advice on what needed to be done to fix the roof and on how to deal with a heavy handed insurance company. Jonathan Schroer with Property Renovations and Construction (PRC) provided that expert advice and guided me through the process of dealing with the insurance company. He took the time to inspect the roof, listen to the insurance situation, and provide a path forward. He worked hand in hand with Paramount Adjustment to resolve the insurance issue and then put on a great quality roof with little out of pocket expense from me. I cannot give high enough praise for PRC and for Paramount Adjustment. Kraig Jenner, the PRC Project Manager, and his crew were super throughout the re-roofing process, and the new roof looks great. I highly recommend PRC to anyone looking for an honest and knowledgeable roofing company."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Merritt Island, FL

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
