"It was a pleasure doing business with the people at All About Plumbing. I went through several estimates for installing a tankless water heater. They came in somewhere in the middle of the pack. After an honest discussion with Caleb, he actually talked me out of a tankless, because the ROI wasn't there for a retrofit. He could have tried to sell me on a more costly installation, but he didn't and I appreciate that. The crew that came out was great. Brigham did an excellent job of replacing our tank and explaining everything that needed to be done. They were relatively efficient and got the job done in a few hours. They have earned my business and I will be using them for all my plumbing needs in the future."

"So, I am a research fanatic. In 2018, I researched companies and I settled on All About Plumbing. -At the time, I wanted just an on-demand water heater. I hired them for that installation. - Then I hired them to replace PEX plumbing and my water line. - Then I hired them to install a sump-pump. - Then I hired them to install a whole-House water filter. - Most recent hire was today for servicing our on-demand Water Heater, servicing / replacing filter in our whole-house water heater, and installing a kitchen faucet. I HIGHLY recommend them to everyone who asks. I would have hired them to replace our HVAC system if I had known then (in 2018) that they do Plumbing, Septic, and HVAC! We have them service our HVAC, now. I recommended them to my neighbor who called them in the afternoon about a broken water heater flooding her house and they worked until 8 PM to get her HW back on and working. ALL ABOUT PLUMBING out od Hendersonville is the BEST."

"Prompt, efficient, professional. The job required relocation of the old water lines to the faucets. He explained clearly what was needed and proceeded to do the job well. I will definitely call him again when I have other plumbing needs."

"Jason did a nice job. He determined that the old (leaking) water line had been laid under the (asphalt) driveway, and that it was thus cheaper simply to install a new waterline. That proved difficult due to the compacted clay around the house, and because the slab was solid concrete, but he persevered and we now are enjoying water without an "enhanced" monthly bill. His price was quite reasonable, and he was very professional."

"The Plumbing gurus helped us with an addition for our adu. Our experience was great and have recommended them to several of our friends. We really saved a lot of money in the long run. And weâ re given a wealth of information on how to prevent future issues with the system we had installed. 10 out of 10, would recommend."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Mills River, NC

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
