"My contact started out great with SouthEnd Painting. Chris came over and gave me a reasonable estimate for the work I needed done, answered my questions when I called him, and gave me a rough estimate on how long it would take to complete the job. It took me a couple of weeks (on my end) to reach out and schedule the job. After it was scheduled it went down hill from there. The crew showed up late the first day, I saw and spoke to the head of the crew on the first and last day otherwise his crew showed up On time (they were nice) over the course of the next 4 days, I had to explain every day what needed be done and sometime it was hard communicating with crew, they painted windows and then shut them instead of letting them dry, they just painted over nail pops( instead of sanding them first), let paint drips stay on the wall, etc. It also took them longer than expected to paint 1200 sq. Ft. For the money I paid I felt like I shouldn’t have to follow the crew from room- to room checking everything all day long. I’m still finding things that I need to fix from them being here such as paint on my door trim because it was not taped off properly. I would not recommend SouthEnd Painiting"

"We recently hired Valentine Painting to paint the exterior of our home. The house is 30+ years old and is two stories with cedar siding. I reached out to several companies for quotes on the job. All of the people who came out would do a quick walk around the house with me, observing what was needed, but making few or no notes. The one exception to this was Jim Valentine. Jim walked around our house several times taking pictures and videos with his phone and making extensive, detailed notes on everything that needed to be done. When he was done, I felt confident that there would be little or no unforeseen "surprises" once the job got underway--which proved to be true. To be honest, there were a couple of bids that came in slightly under his, but I got a strong impression that Valentine Painting would do a superior job. In retrospect, I think this impression was correct. Carpentry work was needed for the following items: replacements of cracked and damaged siding, repairs to an exterior door and its frame, and the complete replacement of our front door and frame. Valentine sent two carpenters out and within two days they had completed the extensive repairs and done all of the prep work for painting. Next a crew of 6 or 7 painters came out and applied two coats of paint to all of the walls, trim, doors, windows and shutters. Within three days they had completed the work and had done an excellent job. Both Jim and his crew were a pleasure to work with. The crew was very professional, conscientious and very friendly. All of the members of the crew worked hard and seemed to take a lot of pride in their work. All of the crew worked well together and seemed to be happy, which usually indicates that they like the company they are working for and are treated well. (This is an important factor for me.) When they were done, they did a very good job of cleaning up after themselves. I've been sitting here trying to think of any negatives to report, but there honestly are not any.
