"Owner Brandon Hood and crew completed project in just under a day.  Had good communication and follow ups thru out bidding and scheduling process.  Prompt replys made to all inquires.  Brandon was present and did some painting as he supervised the work.  Crew was careful not to get stain/paint on adjacent surfaces and shrubs.  Brandon and crew were responsive to being sure any and all missed spots were redone to owners satisfaction.  All used paint cans, etc. cleaned up before crew departed.  Over all a fine job by a hard working group.

"Jeremiah was on time, friendly, and worked very quickly! He assembled my desk for me (which my movers had put together incorrectly, so he had to undo their work first) in no time, and put it right where I wanted in my office. I would definitely hire him again for other assembly projects I need help with in the future!"

"I hired Brian Barker (Quick to Fix Handyman Service) to replace a 25 year old attached deck with a new larger deck. In taking down the old deck we found that the original deck had been attached to the house without any waterproofing between the deck's ledger boards and the house. As a result, water had damaged some of the boards on the house. Before the new deck was constructed, Brian repaired all of the damaged house boards without increasing the cost of his original estimate (asking that I only pay for the cost of the replacement lumber). It gave me great confidence that I had hired the right person for the job in seeing that before any new construction was begun Brian made sure that all of the old problems had been corrected. I grew up working with an uncle in the construction business and as I watch the project unfold I saw that no short cuts were taken, that whatever was done was done right, and that a great amount of personal pride was put into Brian's work. I'm a perfectionist and I am interested in the entire construction process. Brian always welcomed my presence during construction. He gave me valuable insights as to how my original deck design could be improved. He repeated showed me that he would also listen to my input and that his ultimate desire was to make sure that upon completion, the deck would be the way I wanted. Brian is very personable and my conversations with him have always been positive and enjoyable. The project ran into a lot of inclement weather which caused numerous delays. When the rains made continued construction impossible the building site was always left in a neat and orderly manner. In the middle of the project I had to spend two weeks in South Carolina. When I returned I was so pleased that Brian and his wife had mowed my 1/3 acre lawn so that I would not have to deal with foot tall grass upon my return. My new deck is completed and is more beautiful that I originally imaged. When the treated lumber is dry enough to be stained I will be happy to attach pictures to show it off. If you have a project that you want done at a reasonable price and that you want it done right, my very best advice is to call Brian Barker."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Mitchell, IN

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
