"We recently decided to replace our aging deck with a Stamp Crete patio. After the first quote we received we decided to get another. We met with Tony Micale, the owner of Distinctive Stone & Concrete, and discussed what we had in mind and needed to provide a project that would fulfill those needs. Tony made some suggestions and we incorporated them into our ideas and decided to go forward with the project. We were impressed from start to finish with this company. They were on time, professional, neat and most importantly very knowledgeable. The project was completed on schedule. The owner was here several times during the day to check on the progress. We were impressed how his team worked together, only pros could work that way. We certainly recommend anyone needing any concrete work done to give this company a call for a quote, we are very happy we did. John and Donna North Syracuse"

"Pioneer Masonry removed the step from porch and even out the steps height so they were both the same height (original steps were not the same height) and replaced a portion of the top step. This was all done within a day and they were very professional. I would definite recommend them and hire them again if I had a need for their services."

"My stone pad for my business was one of the best contracting experiences I have had as a business owner; start to finish. Mike was spot on with quote, he was very knowledgeable with site setup. When arrived onsite Mike was very friendly, professional and extremely efficient at installing my stone pad. The pad install looks awesome. Mike took extra precautions to not damage well and lawn. Highly recommended. 5 stars for M.S. Ward Land Enhancement ."

"Excellent service from start to finish.  Rich was willing to see us in the evenings for our estimate - which is a great convenience for dual working spouse families. His crew was respectful of our property and left it in clean condition at the end of each workday.  They let us know what they were doing every day.  The final day of the week-long project was wonderful - they spent extra time getting all of the small details correct and gave us great care advice.  It is great to know a quality contractor and I will use them in the future without hesitation. <br />"

"I was concerned about one of the shrubs and asked to have someone stop by and take a look. Within a week I received an email with information about what was wrong and what to do about it. I have changed my overall rating to a B. <br /> <br /> They were delayed in getting me the plan, and they pushed back my work due to a last minute change in their schedule. Therefore the planting ended up being much later than I had hoped and I was worried about it being too late in the fall for planting. The owner did agree to my request to extend the warranty from 1 year to 1.5 years which I thought was fair. <br /> They arrived on time and were very professional. They added stepping stones at the last minute which was great. I was a little disappointed in that they did not test the soil nor plan on rottotilling the planting bed but agreed to do so when I requested (of course for an additional charge). They also did some extra work I requested when they arrived on site. <br /> The trouble started this spring. I noticed the 3 matching shrubs in front were not planted equal distant apart. I sent a photo and the response was <em>and quot; it is hard to tell from the photo, it looks more like one shrub is just not as full toward the center. The shrub hasn’t been in the ground for very long so I don’t think there would be a problem moving it, but it would negate your warranty, as we do not warranty transplants. I can move it, but if I do I would rather set up a time when you are home so you can tell me where you would like the shrub so it isn’t being moved more than once. It would be around $75 to move the shrub.and quot;<br /> </em> <br /> I measured and marked the middle of all shrubs with stakes and sent another photo. The one plant is 7and quot; closer to the center shrub than the other and they are under a picture window with smaller windows on either side, so it looks very obvious. I stated I didn't feel I should have to pay for the one shrub to be <strong>corrected</strong> and I never heard back. I want the shrub moved before it gets bigger and the discrepency more obvious but don't want to risk negating my warranty. <br /> I hired professionals because I didn't think I'd have to worry about where and how the shrubs were placed. <br /> In addition all paperwork, correspondence and bills referred to the 3 shrubs as Summersweet and quot;Summer Beautyand quot; not Summersweet and quot;September Beautyand quot;. I found this very confusing as I couldn't find any information on the internet about the and quot;Summer Beautyand quot; which is not surprising since there is no such variety. That's why I rated professionalism a C. <br /> Responsiveness was good however I didn't like the response. <br /> I really don't know how to rate the quality of the shrubs yet, it will depend on how everything goes in the next couple of years. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"This company was great. They completed the job in record time and went the extra mile in correcting issues left by prior work that had been done. They were personable, informative, and kept in touch every step of the way. I would recommend them to others and would certainly call them first for other projects in the future."

"Original work was done late October, early November in 2012. Workers were on-site when they said they would be and finished the job in one week or so. They were very professional and kept the area as clean as on could. The wall is lovely and it was so much fun watching the mason construct it. The patio and walkway are very nice but after the first freeze thaw are no longer flush to the ground. This isn't Gasparini's fault but still a bit of a disappointment. After a few rains it became apparent that the ground was not leveled properly and we experienced pooling near the patio. S. Gasparini responded positively and they have done "warranty" work and just recently added topsoil and replanted the grass last week as he said they would. They will return next week to regrout the patio and walkway as there is grass coming up through, something we distinctly wanted to avoid. I didn't give Gasparini's an A because they did have to come back to take care of a few things. However, they have been incredibly responsive to our requests and are very pleasant to deal with. The plantings are lovely, the people are professional and overall we are pleased with their willingness to come back to make things right. I think they are a bit more expensive then some, but not much. And given how responsive they are to questions and concerns, I would certainly have them back again to do more work. <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Moravia, NY

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
