"Came out immediately for an estimate. Showed up on time. Very pleasant people to work with. I worked with Jimmy and Jason. They poured a new concrete driveway for us and did an excellent job."

"I had a 50-year-old house with a cinderblock basement wall that had water slowly coming through. I researched the various firms that did waterproofing and had three highly rated firms come out for an estimate. The first contractor didn’t even bring a flashlight and just looked around and said to keep an eye on it. The second gentlemen did provide detailed estimate and carefully explained the problem. Randy, the owner, from Chamberlin Washington provided a similar diagnosis and estimate. His estimate was not only a little less expensive but he looked at the entire house and found other things that could use some maintenance. This is what I liked about Randy – he looked at the whole house and discovered several smaller things that should be fixed to avoid issues down the road. These were all things I knew about already but I’m glad someone took the time to examine the entire house and not just the one issue I was having. We had then not only waterproof the outside wall but also fill the expansion joints in our patio and seal one basement window as well as re-point some mortar joints in the brink chimney. When the crew came they went to work. They also did an admirable job protecting our plants. An old section of of a 6' high stockade fence had to be removed and I bough a new section and the crew was happy to put that up. When they water tested the wall they found a small leak. They re-did the sealant and that did the trick. Randy came out and supervised critical parts of the job. He was great to work with and happily fixed a few small things at the end. Randy really cares about doing the job right. I am 100% pleased with the work they did. I watched over much of the repair and everything was done correct and by the book. Overall I can't say enough about how pleased I was with Chamberlin-Washington and their work. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone."

"Our house is in Morgantown, and we could not find anyone in Morgantown that could do this job. Because our house is and quot;historicand quot; (=old, built in 1928) we wanted it done by people who would do a good job. At first CW Stickley (in Fairmont, 25 miles away) said that they would not do it, because they did not want to come to Morgantown for a small job. I emailed them photos of our crumbling porch, steps, walk and swale, and they said they would do it. <br /> They agree to do it in August of 2012, and it did not get accomplished until August 2014. When they finally said they would be there, they were there on time. They did a very nice job. One hiccup was that they did not get the details of how far our property extended, so when they prepped the street and poured the concrete, they were several feet short, and we also wanted them to continue to our neighbor's driveway (another 8 feet or so that we would pay for). They were very agreeable, and did the job, but that and quot;extraand quot; 20 feet or so was an unexpected expense. <br /> They were not the best at communication (nor were we, and communication is a 2-way street). I'm in the military, and we were corresponding long-distance, and that was part of the problem with the communication. <br /> The end product looks great, and many people have stopped by and commented on how nice everything looks. We would use them again, and be more precise with communication and expectations. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I called Matt Speakman for an estimate on a drive way. I also called Parotta Concrete and a couple other companies for estimates. Matt got back with me right away, stopped by and discussed details and style choices. Once we had agreed on everything I wanted done and a price he immediately got the paper work in to city hall. The unfortunate result of dealing with the city was waiting for permit approval, which took a full week. During which of course we had gorgeous weather for working with concrete. As soon as that resolved though, Speakman arrived and got to work. After he been on the job for over week (so more than two weeks because of city hall slow down) I got a call from Parotta company with an estimate much higher than Speakman's estimate and also wanted to pour less, and a thinner concrete base. The two other companies I contacted never even bothered to get back in touch with me. And to conclude the part on the project, everything went well and was exactly as described and expected. <br /> As to Matt himself, I found him a delight to work with. He is amiable and curious of character making for interesting and enlightening conversation. He was always forthright and honest. He was also always prompt and forthcoming as to when he was showing up and what he was doing that day. As I said above, wonderful to work with. I would certainly recommend him for any job, and would contact him again if I had any future needs. <br />"

"I was contacted by United Structural Systems quickly after I had made an online inquiry for a quote. Within a week, Bobby came and assessed my foundation issue and provided a quote. I was grateful that they were able to start my project so quickly. The crew (Chris, Dan, and Enrique) installed 5 piers around my garage in only one day. They successfully raised my garage over 2 inches and repaired all cracks and crevices in the brick and mortar perfectly.  All the guys were respectful, professional, detail oriented, and pleasant to communicate with. <br />"

"I called Affordable Landscape twice to see about fixing my driveway/culvert. The first time I talked with the owner I think and told him that I need a culvert pipe removed and a new one (which I had already) put in and then our driveway grated and filled in with gravel. He was going to come out and look it over and then call me with an estimate. This was in the summer and they were busy, but still I'm not sure he ever came to see the project, but he never called me. Then I called and talked with a woman and told her about my first call and never hearing from him and she apologized and told me they were indeed very busy, but she would make sure he called me. Never heard from him. <br /> We did however go pick up a few truck loads of gravel to fill in our driveway ourselves, and that was a good experience. Very good price on that and so I would use them again for picking up materials but not for projects. <br />"

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Morgantown, WV

Polished concrete floors offer many benefits with very few drawbacks. While issues like discoloration, stains, or imprints may occur during pouring, these are rare when working with a skilled flooring contractor. Once polished, concrete floors are easy to maintain, long-lasting, and eco-friendly. They also resist mold and moisture, making them ideal for allergy-prone households, and offer versatile design options for both indoor and outdoor use.

Polished concrete flooring is often more affordable than tile. It involves lower material costs and less labor-intensive installation. Tile installations require additional leveling and preparation, which increases labor costs. Opting for concrete flooring helps reduce upfront expenses and provides a durable, stylish finish that saves money over time with minimal maintenance.

While epoxy flooring offers enhanced durability and toughness compared to polished concrete, it comes with higher material and labor costs. If budget is a top priority, polished concrete floors provide a resilient and attractive finish without the premium price tag, making them an ideal choice for value and long-term performance.

Polished concrete floors last 20 years or more when installed by licensed professionals and maintained with proper care. Their enduring finish withstands heavy use and remains visually impressive for decades. Regular deep cleaning and maintenance help safeguard the floor’s integrity, providing homeowners with a long-lasting, cost‐effective solution that endures daily wear without compromising style.

Polished concrete floors increase home value by offering a modern, sleek appearance and exceptional durability. A professionally installed floor not only enhances visual appeal but also minimizes maintenance expenses, making the property more attractive to prospective buyers. This flooring upgrade delivers a refined look while boosting overall market competitiveness and long-term property value.
