"Kyle and his crew did a fantastic job and left the site clean and tidy (actually cleaner than before they started work)... job also took a day less than original estimate. Could not be more pleased with their professionalism and efficiency. Would recommend Azalea City Roofing to anyone needing repair or total replacement."

"Greg was very informative and had pictures of the products available to replace my old roof. He matched the shingles to a more recent shed that was built which was great. Responds promptly to text and kept me informed through the entire process. The crew working on my roof were very polite, hard working and you’d never know they had been to my house. I love my new roof and would recommend Greg and his team to anyone who is looking to replace their roof and reasonably priced. I can’t thank you guys enough for an amazing job you did!!!"

"They are actually a national firm.  I spent between $8000 and $10000.  They did the complete tear down and reshingle in one day.  They had 10 guys working here.  They worked hard.  They did it quickly.  There wasn't any inconvenience at all.  They got up there and did the work.  I don't know anybody else who does it in one day with the size of the roof that we have.  We've got a 4000 sqft house.  I was happy."

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"Ernie Haas provided a very thorough examination of our roof which enabled us (after much back and forth with our roofer (DCF Contracting)) to ensure that all necessary and required repairs were made to our roof. Mr. Haas stayed in contact with us for more than a month to ensure that any questions or issues we had were addressed."

"Tim Harris was really good. He came and gave me the estimate. He came in and got it all done in one time on the day he said he was going to do it. The gutters were couple of bits and pieces, the little thing at the bottom of the gutters that spread the water out. He said that he could put those in there for some amount. He said that I could go to another company and get it for higher amount. He did a really good job. I asked him about some sections of roof that I thought might need some work. He said that it was needed as it would not be beneficial. He gave me the best product that I needed. The price was reasonable. I asked him for references where he had worked before. It was in the neighborhood and I asked them. Everybody liked him. I have column in my front porch. It has got a weird angle the way that the roof slopes. It was one of the really bad spots where the water came off. Downspouts there would not just look right. The way he put it in, we couldn't even notice it. Once he gave me the initial quote, he had to order the parts and he was on another job. It took a little longer for him to get in here with the parts."

"<p>After finding water coming into my kitchen wall during a rainstorm,I assumed it was time for a new roof for my nearly 20 year old mobile home.I called Affordable Roofing and requested an estimate,a few hours later the owner (Dennis) arrived. He climbed up on the roof and did all the necessary measurements and returned to the ground.I was bracing myself for the bad news, when Dennis told me my shingles were in really good condition for their age.He also said he had spotted a damaged shingle in the area of the kitchen leak.He gave me 3 free shingles and made arrangements for a handyman to come by and install them later that same day!The man saved me several thousand dollars and a lot of aggravation. When I need roofing work done in the future I will be calling Affordable Roofing!</p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Morven, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
