"I have used Aly's Tree Service for 20 years. They've removed dead trees and planted new trees and trimmed trees. Usually Aly is there during the service and things go great. Usually I give straight A's. This time I asked for pruning and trimming of citrus trees. Aly came for the estimate. He said my orange tree was fine for another year--I always appreciate his honesty. The lemon tree and the lime tree needed some work. They had gotten too large and dense. Workers came out promptly. No need for Aly for this smaller job. After 30 minutes (and $400) they said they were finished. I looked at the trees and they were densely shaped shrubs on a trunk. Now, I know I asked for thinning/pruning. I told them so but they said this is how they always do it and how Aly told them to do it. I wasn't thrilled with this as my gardener will do this same work for no added fee. I told them sun and air needed to get into there and thinning branches was needed for healthy fruit. They either didn't understand me or acted like they didn't understand me as I tried to explain what I wanted. Rather than continue to disagree, I let them go. I called Aly's number and he came right over and looked at it and said he'd send a crew right over to fix it and they did first thing in the morning. I loved that response. The second job done was excellent and exactly what I had in mind. I'm not sure what was going on with the first crew. Did they want to quickly get the job done and not do all the work? Did they really not know what pruning a tree involves? Do some people really like super dense shrub citrus trees? I really trust Aly, but was disappointed in the work his first crew did. I will continue to use Aly and continue to make sure the job is done the way I need it even if I have to call them again to fix it up."

"I contacted Johnson's and they connected me to their stump removal person. Alonso came over and brought his grinder. In two and a half hours the stump that had resisted everything I could think to do about it for a year was no more. Hurrah He was very careful with the machine, didn't mar the concrete that was nearby, and go it completely out."

"Amazing customer service and professionalism!!! Received an immediate response from Jose (on the weekend!!) after my inquiry to obtaining a price quote for 2 massive tree removals. Jose was on time to quote the removals, and immediately sent an email with the estimate and proof of insurance. (No other company even bothered to do this, which exemplifies P&J outstanding professionalism. We decided to go with P&J to remove our trees. DAY of tree removal: The tree removal crew was prompt, courteous, professional, and immediately started on the tree removal. They wore protective gear such as hard hats and high visibility vests. They started with the massive 20ft pine tree in the front yard, they meticulously started removing branches from the bottom to the top, there was even a guy who climbed the tree to make sure that the cut and branch drop was carefully planned as not to hit anything in its drop zone. Then it was off to the backyard to remove the 30ft eucalyptus tree. They did the exact same thing for the back yard as well. The task was so intriguing that even our neighbors commented on how good and skilled they were. Not one branch or debris fell anywhere other than where it was supposed to. There was even a fig tree next to eucalyptus tree that had a branch less than 2 inches away and they didnt even touch the fig tree. AMAZING JOB!!!!! The stumps were grinded to the ground and the crew cleaned up the area better than it was. THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED with their work AND professionalism."

Customers say: True professional

"Gil Tree Service responded promptly when I reached out for advice regarding trimming three large trees in my yard. I have a large pepper tree in my backyard. In front, I have an olive tree and a huge Podocarpus. Each tree required different treatments and skills to properly maintain them. Gil Tree Service responded promptly and scheduled the work within days. I appreciated their prompt response, and the representative gave clear recommendations for each tree. The trimming work was conducted efficiently and with a high level of professionalism. The crew completed the job quickly, ensuring that all necessary steps were taken to address my concerns. Additionally, after the trimming was finished, all debris was thoroughly removed, leaving the yard clean and tidy. Based on this positive experience, I would not hesitate to recommend Gil Tree Service to others. Should I require further tree work in the future, I will certainly call on their services again."

"They did a great job, I would highly recommend them to anyone. They did an excellent service. Eric and all of the workers were great and extremely helpful for us. They were very very good and careful when cutting the limbs and the trunks of the trees. My neighbors were very appreciative of them not blocking the road during the work."

"Silverton and his team did an absolutely amazing job on cutting our huge cypress trees and strawberry trees. It was an all day job and we couldn't be happier with their profession and expertise. They also made sure to clean up every bit of debris from our yard and our 3 neighbors yards! We will definitely hire them for future projects."

"Carlos phoned me within a day of my request for an estimate. He came to my house the next morning to give me an estimate and was prepared to cut the tree down, then and there. He and his team did a fantastic job! I had asked for the trunk to be cut into sections so that I might use them around my yard...they did it. All the other parts of the tree were put out onto the street for collection. The bits and pieces that were previously covering the lack of fence were all put back into place, better than before. Wow, it's so nice to have the work done so professionally, by a friendly team, and in a very timely manner! The price was fair and averaged out to be less than an estimate made by a company with a Big Deal.

FAQs for tree stump removal projects in Mount-Hermon, CA

Always transport chainsaws with the engine off and chain brake engaged. Use the protective bar cover provided by the rental company to prevent accidental contact with the cutting chain. Position the chainsaw securely in your vehicle to prevent movement during transit, ideally in a truck bed or trunk rather than the passenger compartment.

For gas models, ensure the fuel cap is tight and position the saw to minimize potential leakage. Keep the chainsaw away from passengers and other items that could be damaged.

Proper safety equipment is essential when operating any chainsaw. At minimum, you should have eye protection (safety glasses or a face shield), hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs), cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw chaps or pants, and sturdy boots with good traction.

Many rental facilities offer basic safety kits alongside chainsaw rentals. If you'll be using chainsaws regularly, investing in quality personal safety gear is advisable. Never operate a chainsaw without appropriate protective equipment, regardless of the job size.

While rental companies will rent chainsaws to beginners, inexperience significantly increases safety risks. If you've never used a chainsaw before, request a demonstration from the rental staff and thoroughly review the operator's manual before starting. Begin with smaller, more manageable cutting tasks to build comfort with the tool's operation.

For significant cutting jobs, consider either taking a chainsaw safety course first or hiring professionals instead. The learning curve for safe chainsaw operation is steep, and caution is paramount.

If mechanical problems develop during your rental, immediately cease operation and contact the rental company. Most reputable rental businesses will either provide a replacement chainsaw or repair the equipment if the breakdown resulted from normal use rather than misuse. Document the issue with photographs when possible and maintain records of when you reported the problem.

Having your rental agreement readily available when you call will expedite the resolution process. The rental company should adjust your rental period to account for any downtime.
