Fresh out of High School trying to start a business in junk removal and cleaning up.

"VERY disappointing. Website inaccurate. Crew lied to me then the owner. I ended up doing most of the work myself. DONT USE. 1) The crew wanted to arrive three hours early and I accommodated them even though I was not living at the house anymore. 2) they arrived without any bags and told me straight out that everything that goes on the truck goes in the landfill. No donation of furniture no recycling. They also don't go into attics and they don't actually help bag anything. 3) They were unable to accommodate me yesterday on the day that I was scheduled and had to reschedule for the next morning when I had not taken off work. 3) I had to do all the bagging myself. I had to make and pay for separated arrangements for donations including furniture. 4) The next morning the crew to arrive had absolutely no idea what it happened the day before and were also unprepared. 5) The owner contacted me and apologized. She acknowledged that much of the information I was told was incorrect (attic, bagging items, donations- they are supposed to do these things) and that the website is unclear about other items (e.g. “hazardous materials” includes paint). Initially she offered to send a crew to pick up the donations for no additional charge. She then rescinded that offer and said I wouldn’t be charged for the work done thus far and no additional work would be done. The 12 hours it took me to gather and bag (since they wouldn’t) was worth more to me than what little they did that I wasn’t charged for. I lost time at work and lost time I needed to unpack at my new house. Would not recommend ever."

You can look through our email chain below and see where you were quoted a 26-foot truck and three Hunks. Do to pricing concerns, you elected to go with a 20-foot moving truck and 2 Hunks. That was what was provided for you and you were charged the amount quoted. However, you also rented a 26-foot moving truck personally and had our Hunks load that truck up as well. We were not compensated at all for this. The loading of the two trucks took 7 hours. The two Hunk hourly rate is $145 per hour. We estimate our Hunks loading your 26-foot moving truck to have at least taken 3 hours. The charges for this would be $435. You can call us at 336-690-9151 to make payment over the phone with a debit/credit card or you can mail the check to our local office at College Hunks Moving, 319 South Westgate Drive, Suite H, Greensboro NC 27407. I have also attached a claim form. Please fill it out and email back to me along with pictures of the damage. Please note, we did not drive or unload your rented 26-foot truck and are not liable for any damage to pieces transported in that vehicle. We also must receive the $435 that is still owed for services before we can process your claim. Once this is paid and we have received the claim form and pictures, we will process your claim based on the valuation protection selected. In conclusion, if we damaged any items we do apologize and will be happy to process your claim. However, we did perform services that were not part of your quote and need to be compensated for. The truck I rented was to remove my items from my storage unit. It was there on site to ensure personal items could be removed without issue like my jewelry and plants ETC. My brother was there as well to assist me who ALSO assisted your boys with both trucks and did very well! I am so thankful for my brother! I paid my brother additional monies for HIS HELP because he was not there to help your guys but be ASSURED your staff was thankful for the help! I did not ask your boys to load my truck they offered. “Jay stated to me Ms. LaShonda we will not be able to get some of the last items on our truck because our truck is getting packed.” Jay stated we can move all things if we can put the final items on your truck.” “I said OKAY” I also told them I would cash app them for the help and I DID THAT AS WELL. I also took them to dinner. We ate pizza and pizza hut. Tools needed to for the move were not on hand. Marquis had to call a friend to get a to drill NEEDED to unscrew my bed. This delayed the move as well. They came three hours late to the move. Your customer service is horrible across the board. You intentionally sent your staff to move me unprepared in every way! I spoke to Jeremiah who was supposed to come and evaluate my items before move day, but he did not because, he stated “Greensboro is a long way Ms. Lashonda if we can just go over your items on the phone”. We did just that! With that information you and your staff knew their would-be mishaps on my moving day. You only cared about the money!!! Jay told me Ms. Lashonda someone was supposed to look at your items so we could have been better prepared. He also told me, and brother Jon Lewis could care less about the customer he only wants the money! Jay was supervising the move per marquis, and he had great customer service, but my move seemed to be a lot for him, and I stated over and over with each call to your business that I need well-groomed hunks because, I had large items. I don’t owe you nothing! Your staff came poorly prepared for the moved without sufficient shrink wrapping, enough blankets to protect my items and they blankets they did have was molded and filthy and should have been thrown in the trash before arriving to me. I will never use business again nor will I ever refer someone to you. With each response from your business, it has been with an unprofessional attitude and a rude posture that is disgusting and worth notating!"
