"We couldn’t be happier with our decision to hire Halo Roofing. We got estimates from 3 other roofing companies and while Ron wasn’t the cheapest estimate and not the expensive one either, it was by far the most professional and fair from all the rest. What started as a small analysis into the condition of our roof as we knew we have a leak. This turned into a large roofing work by repairing about 1/2 of the roof frame. It’s never fun to get an estimate on a project only to tear off the current roof and to see the roof totally rotted and not doing what it should do....BUT Ron walked us through all the issues that were wrong and worked out with us on some options to do things the right way while keeping all the costs fair and low. These things were absolutely noticeable at first and without removing the existing roof. The crew was very friendly, polite, and respectful of our house. We had a couple accidents (like a broken window but the crew helped us fix it without any added cost to us. Wonderful company, professional work, honest and trusty."

"Dave was the estimator and his crew came on time to complete the work as agreed. The work was done fine but by the end of the job and also end of day, the crew did not clean up very well. I had roof tile pieces and debris all over around the house. It took me quite awhile to clean up. I'd mentioned this to Dave and he immediately asked if he can send the same crew back tomorrow to clean up, but I've already cleaned up. A few days later, I noticed a cap from one of the pipe from the roof was blown off and I don't think it has to do with the prior roof work. I'd asked Dave, if he was in ever in the neighborhood to stop by and put the cap back on. He didn't hesitate and did that. The experience would be a perfect and quot;Aand quot; if it was not for the cleaning up issue. I think this company does try to go out of their way to please the customer. I would use them again. <br />"

"We had an incredible experience working with Builderzz Remodeling for our kitchen remodel. Guy and his team were very accessible, managing the project end-to-end from design, construction, inspection through completion. They set a budget and timeline upfront and stayed true to both. They were very detail oriented and had our best interests in mind. We never felt in the dark as they were very transparent and responsive whenever we needed. Our kitchen turned out better than we had anticipated and we couldn't have asked for a better contractor or experience. Thank you Builderzz Remodeling!"

"We needed a new roof for our house. Our ‘old’ roof had few leaks and several problems that required the replacement with a new one. The last rain resulted in a water leak to the bedrooms area. So, we called Landmark construction energy upgrade because they did our neighbor's roof a year ago and they gave us an estimate at that time. This time, they just updated the estimate and they were able to lower it, which was cheaper than the other estimates we got. The good feeling was much better because it’s a family business who not only give the bid but do the work. No hard sell here or having the bid from one guy but the work is with unknown others - as it was with other bids. Landmark did the job so good and very fast as well which was awesome! The workers from Landmark made sure to clean the roof and they did a quality work. The roof was a mess with lots of humps, bumps and terrible pad for the Air conditioning. They rebuilt it all, and had people who came to do specialty tasks, such as hooking up the dish, the air conditioning condenser etc.… More than that, they also fixed the gutters and made sure they are connected correctly. All in all, this project is complete and done. We are no longer have to deal with the old roof and leaks for at least for 20 years. Before we did the new roof, The office staff helped us with the Cool Roof rebate from the power company and the federal tax rebate for an Energy Star roof, both of which we were not aware. Landmark construction energy upgrade are now our roofers who did a great work and have other great contractors to supplement for special tasks and run an all-around energy efficient business. If we ever move or we have a natural disaster, we know who will work for us."

"I had a lot of trouble even getting anyone to bid on this job - several contractors/companies never answered inquiries. A couple of others came out to look and promised to send bids, but they never did.  Handyman Unlimited (HU) was one of only two outfits that responded.  However, they did so quite enthusiastically, and their price was essentially the same as the other bidder, who had no reviews on Angie's List. <br /> HU sent different people out to evaluate the drywall, stucco, and painting jobs, and their estimates came in within a day or two of their visits.  The estimates included a schedule of payments based on specific job completions.  <br /> The work went smoothly; the only real times when they weren't working was when things had to dry/cure (particularly the stucco), plus one day when it was over 105 degrees out here.  The workers did a good job of cleaning up after themselves.  <br /> I'd also like to point out that the attic fans were a suggestion that one of the HU workers made; the idea hadn't occurred to us.  They have worked out extremely well so far. <br /> The work seems to be of excellent quality.  I would (and will) use HU in the future. <br />"

"We have a 4,300 square-foot roof. They arrived promptly on a Monday morning. All old roof materials were removed by Tuesday afternoon. Necessary repairs were made and the entire roofing process was completed by Thursday afternoon. All scrap and extra materials were removed daily and trailers and materials stored neatly and out of the way each evening. Workers arrived promptly each. morning at 7:30 and the property was clean and materials stored by 4:00 each afternoon. The owner, Mike Oughton, came by twice before the job began. Once to give us the estimate and recommend the best roofing materials based upon our situation and location and a second time so we could pick the roof color and set the project dates. Mike is professional, knowledgable and his employees were great to work with. Mike was here every day working and to oversee the progress. The roof was finished on a Thursday and Friday/Saturday we got 3.5 inches of rain. We are warm, dry and very pleased! <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Mountain-Pass, CA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
