"Contract was signed with Paul (sales consultant) in March, but due to COVID-19, we delayed having work done until late summer. Requested start dates many times. Promised Labor day, but again delayed. Firm start date last week of September only after I complained to Steve Taylor, the owner. Another delay when wrong materials were delivered. Work not completed until late October. After first significant rain, I noticed that rain water was cascading over the edge of the porch, which was the original problem causing the damage. I sent Paul a video of the water flow problem before THI repairs were made and after THI repairs were made and the videos look identical. I complained to Paul and he recommended gutters, which were objectionable to me and would require HOA approval (unlikely). I proposed installing a channel on top of the membrane to force the water to the side edges of the porch. Paul was not supportive, since he said it would likely fail. I told him I would not hold him responsible if the adhesive did not seal to the membrane. Then after all this Paul informs me the contract was only to repair the damaged boards, but not to address the "water flow issue". I feel this is a breach of contract and a real integrity issue for THI. Why would an owner request that damaged boards be replaced, but then not address the root cause? In addition, when the work was being done, Ted the contractor tore a hole through a window screen. Ted took the screen with him and said the screen will be promptly repaired, then returned to our home. That was 3 1/2 weeks ago and the screen has not been returned."
