"We hired Robert Christoper’s to do repointing on our stone house. They were prompt, explained the process, made sure to try to match the existing mortar as closely as possible and cleaned up thoroughly upon completion of the project. Very pleased with the work."

"Contractor was very responsive and we had continued communication throughout the project. The proposal was detailed and the work done was exactly the same as detailed in the proposal. His crew were professional and always timely and worked efficiently and effectively. The removal of the old concrete sidewalks and pouring and finishing of the new sidewalks were done quick and they were done right. The finished product looks great !"

"This is our 2nd time in a couple years we chose Plymouth Nursery and Landscaping for our contractor. They did our porch and walkway a couple years back and we were so impressed with the workmanship and the outcome of that project that when we decided to do our back patio I never considered another contractor. I called John and he came by to estimate the job and added a few ideas. His estimate came inline to what I expected. He worked with us throughout the project. These guys are very detailed and knowledgeable when it comes to stone work. Our home is an older stone house and they matched the stone perfectly. We had a 16’x22’ flagstone patio installed along with a walkway and three stone walls. It was a sizable project. His workers were amazing and very easy to work with. I cannot begin to tell you how many compliments we have received from our neighbors. We are extremely happy with the way it turned out. I will say these pictures don’t even begin to show how amazing this project turned out."

"I hired Q&S to do some repointing and waterproofing on the front of my house. The owner Ray came to give me the estimate, he arrived early and was very clear in his explanations. When the team arrived to do the work, the did exactly as was described. The few times they needed to walk through my house to get to the backyard, they were very respectful of tracking stuff in and of the fact that i was on the phone for work. Repointing creates alot of dust, I appreciated that in addition to my house, they hosed down the cars parked in front of my house as well as my neighbor's steps and windows which had gotten quite dusty. The repointing did not fix my leaking issue and they have been very accommodating in coming back and doing repeated water tests to try and find the source of the leak. I have already recommended this company to a neighbor and if I need any other brick/stucco related repairs I would def call them agian."

"Mark Cement responded when they said they would respond. They showed up when they said they would show up. They honored the price they quoted. These things all sound simple, but are so rare when working with many contractors. On top of their timely service, the sidewalks they installed for us are beautiful! We received multiple compliments on the work before the Mark team had even pulled away. Many thanks to the team of workers who did our job. They were tidy, polite and efficient. Thanks also go to Mike and Lisa for the great customer service."

"Anthony and his team did a rather large job and repointed and waterproofed all bricks on our house and chimney, replaced a few spalled bricks and repointed other masonry. It was an easy process from the quote to scheduling and completing the work. It only took a few days, and the results are quite impressive, for a reasonable price. Anthony stands behind his work and makes sure itâ s completed to the customerâ s satisfaction. I highly recommend him."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Narberth, PA

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
