"Blackburn Construction was great to work with. My neighbor and I had a difficult riverbank repair on a steep slope along the Cumberland River after a previous contractor left a mess (putting it lightly). Trentt, the owner, called me back first thing in the morning and came out the very next day—despite pouring rain—to walk the site and provided a fair quote. He and his crew were professional, friendly, and did an excellent job rebuilding both riverbanks, stacking the stone with care so it looks great as well as secure. The work was so well done that I asked them to add a retaining wall and gutter drainage for extra protection. They showed up on time and finished before the river level rose. Highly recommend them!"

We use a cutting edge process of creating durable hardscapes from solid monolithic concrete. By using this technique, we can create a time-worn and naturally distressed look, thereby enhancing the natural appeal of the project. Concrete is poured, carved and textured to look just like real rock and in as little as a few hours, ordinary concrete is transformed into a striking focal point that is ready for a lifetime of use.\n\nWe make retaining walls, waterfalls, walkways, patios, and much more using solid concrete. An innovative alternative to real rock and block construction. Retaining walls are now more affordable and customizable than traditional stone methods. Our knowledge and expertise of sculpting concrete may inspire your vintage landscape business by breaking the paradigm of how concrete retaining walls, walkways, water features and hardscape designs are constructed. Being one of the few world-wide diligent concrete solution oriented companies who offers a plethora of solutions to any construction phase and liking.\n\nMiller's Hardscape's and Remodeling is a concrete/remodeling company Veteran Owned and ran. Do you have that dream back yard, porch, patio, fire pit, outdoor scenery or even interior ideas but just don't know how to get it done or think its impossible? Well look no further, we can make that dream come alive and the possibilities are endless!

FAQs for building site preparation and clearing projects in Nashville, TN

A professional team can clear an acre of land in as little as two to twelve hours, depending on your land's condition. You'll need to consider factors like vegetation density, terrain features, and obstacles such as trees, stumps, rocks, or existing structures can increase the time required. If your land is heavily wooded or has uneven terrain, expect the process to take longer and require more effort.

If you're looking to clear land for a pasture, expect to pay between $400 and $600 per acre for forestry mulching or $500 to $5,600 per acre for conventional land clearing. When choosing a method, consider:

  • Forestry Mulching: Leaves organic material in the soil, promoting new ground cover growth.

  • Conventional Clearing: You might lose valuable topsoil during this process.

A land-clearing project typically involves several key steps to prepare your property for construction or landscaping. First, assess your land and obtain any necessary permits from your local building department. Then, professionals use specialized equipment to remove trees, stumps, brush, and vegetation. After clearing, they haul away debris and may perform grading to level the land, ensuring it's ready for your intended use.

Preparing land to build a house typically costs between $1,000 and $4,000, depending on your land's size and condition. This includes clearing space for the foundation, which may involve removing trees, stumps, brush, and leveling or grading the site. Don't forget to budget for additional costs like permits, fees, and installing utility connections such as gas lines, water lines, and sewer mains.
