He apologized for the lengthy delay in getting back to me and explained over the past several months they had been unusually busy due to several weather events. Tim offered to compensate me for the delay and my trouble. His offer was too generous so we agreed on a lesser amount. This gesture shows me that he is very sensitive to his relationships with clients and makes me very comfortable with doing business with his company again. "I was not home when the work was performed and have not climbed up on the roof to inspect their work. However, water does not gush down the side of the house when it rains so I guess they did a good job. IO was told they would call when the job was finished but have not heard from them. 
There was no sign they had been to the house, which is good. Another service I've used left heavy bags of wet leaves for me to put out for the trash.
