"I had an old refrigerator, microwave and some other things to be removed from my backyard. Robert was the original guy I I contacted. We talked pricing and then arranged a Time for pickup. Vinny was the worker that came out on time I may add he introduced himself and got straight to work it took him about not even 15 minutes to get all the stuff on the trailer. We talked for a bit and he informed me that they were a construction company that also did repairs and to keep them in mind if I ever needed anything which I will I've added them to my contact list. I think Robert and Vinny are phenomenal guys. They were both professional and friendly at the same time. I gave them five stars but that really not enough to describe how they made me feel like a special and valued customer. So this is my personal rating; 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Satisfaction! πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€— Friendliness! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸΏ Getting the job done! "

"This past weekend I had a bad experience. The short story is that an A. J. Perri technician diagnosed my furnace problem and wrote me an estimate for $1,600, parts and labor. It turns out my furnace had a different problem that required no parts and only 15 minutes of labor. Here are the details: This past Saturday my furnace stopped heating my home. I called A.J. Perri and they sent out a technician on Sunday morning. The tech ran some checks and concluded that my β€œinducer assembly” had to be replaced. Parts and installation would be $1,600. He said someone from the office would contact me on Monday and let me know when they could have the part. He also said that he couldn't be certain that there weren't other issues that wouldn't be found until the inducer was repaired. After the technician left I did some searching on the Internet. YouTube and Reddit were especially helpful. I discovered that the problem was that the condensate drain was clogged and water had backed up into the inducer assembly. The water prevented the pressure switches from detecting that the inducer was running and this prevented the furnace from starting. When I disconnected the condensate hose *2 quarts* of water drained out of the inducer assembly! This water was supposed to drain into a small pump unit on the floor that sends collected water to the sump. Over the years mold and algae had clogged the condensate trap and caused the backup. I disconnected all the hoses and removed the trap. I blew out the trap (making a mess) and confirmed that water would easily flow through it. I put it all back together and the furnace is working fine. The sad lesson here is that you can’t always rely on supposed experts. The good news is that the Internet can be your friend. Even more details: The original symptom was that the furnace would start up, the inducer motor would run for about 20 seconds and then it would shut off. This cycle would repeat every few minutes. Every few hours the furnace completed the startup cycle and then I’d get heat. Then it would stop heating for hours, and the indoor temperature would drop to the low 60s. What I learned from YouTube is that there are multiple stages for furnace startup. The inducer motor spins a cage that sucks in fresh air for combustion, and then pushes the hot gases through the heat exchanger and out the flue. Each stage in the startup has safety checks. The furnace will not ignite if the pressure sensors don’t detect that the inducer motor is working properly. Water is a byproduct of the combustion. It starts as a vapor but then condenses in the flue pipe and drains back to the inducer assembly, where it’s supposed to run through a hose to a pump that sends it over to my basement sump. The furnace is 14 years old. Apparently that’s long enough for mold and algae to clog the condensate trap and cause water to back up into the inducer. The 2 qts of water blocked the pressure sensor switches and so the furnace wouldn’t light. Final thoughts: For over 14 years I've had great experiences with A.J. Perri. They replaced my home’s original furnace and Air Conditioner units. They moved our outside A/C unit to the side of our house so we could have more quiet in the backyard. I had them come for periodic heating and A/C maintenance checkups. My impression is that they might cost a bit more, but they were reliable. I'm saddened that I need to post such a negative review."

At ERC Environmental we make dealing with your old oil tank easy - our tank removal, replacement and soil clean-up services come at a single flat rate. No surprise fees or hidden charges; we make the process stress-free from beginning to end. Our services include everything from digging out your old tank to locating your new one, even ensuring your outdoor space is returned to its former glory. Ancient, leaking oil tanks pose a problem for homeowners, often when they come to sell. You might be concerned about the cost of oil tank removal and replacement because many contractors won't give you the final fee until the project is complete. That's where ERC Environmental is different. We quote you up front for the job, so you know exactly how much you'll have to shell out. It won't cost a single cent more. Contrary to popular belief it takes a matter of hours to remove and replace an oil tank – not days or weeks – and you won't be without heat or water during the process. ERC Environmental is a state certified, licensed, reputable and professional oil tank removal and cleanup company. Talk to us about your tank today.

"I had a good experience with the oil tank removal. However, they weren’t clear about charges. I agreed to hire them because in shopping for estimates they were the middle man. However, look at the estimate carefully. If any permits need to be pulled they put β€œpermit”-TBD and charge $150 to obtain the permit. So when I received there estimate I thought that was the complete estimate and there would be no other charges. This was not true. I paid half up front and the other half was due when the job was complete. When the job was complete I had an addition charge of $400 for obtaining the permit and the permit itself. When I explained my situation and asked that they give some type of credit with the $150 they threatened to sue me and put a lien on my house. Do I think it would go that far β€œNO”. Attorneys are very expensive. However, I will not be referring them to anyone because of the sneaky manner in which they charge and also the threatening manner in which they ended the job. It’s not worth the headache though. If $400 is going to make such a difference I will pay it. Stay away charged are not clear. When they found out how much the permit would cost I believe they should have informed me as well as informed me that it would cost $150 to obtain the permit."

FAQs for building site preparation and clearing projects in Neptune, NJ

A professional team can clear an acre of land in as little as two to twelve hours, depending on your land's condition. You'll need to consider factors like vegetation density, terrain features, and obstacles such as trees, stumps, rocks, or existing structures can increase the time required. If your land is heavily wooded or has uneven terrain, expect the process to take longer and require more effort.

If you're looking to clear land for a pasture, expect to pay between $400 and $600 per acre for forestry mulching or $500 to $5,600 per acre for conventional land clearing. When choosing a method, consider:

  • Forestry Mulching: Leaves organic material in the soil, promoting new ground cover growth.

  • Conventional Clearing: You might lose valuable topsoil during this process.

A land-clearing project typically involves several key steps to prepare your property for construction or landscaping. First, assess your land and obtain any necessary permits from your local building department. Then, professionals use specialized equipment to remove trees, stumps, brush, and vegetation. After clearing, they haul away debris and may perform grading to level the land, ensuring it's ready for your intended use.

Preparing land to build a house typically costs between $1,000 and $4,000, depending on your land's size and condition. This includes clearing space for the foundation, which may involve removing trees, stumps, brush, and leveling or grading the site. Don't forget to budget for additional costs like permits, fees, and installing utility connections such as gas lines, water lines, and sewer mains.
