During your free in-home consultation, the Design Associate will talk with you about your project, measure your space, bring samples in which match what you are looking for, and give an all-inclusive and down-to-the-penny price for your project. "I left a voicemail for Jason and he called me back very fast. He was able to come over within a day or two and take a look at the job and gave me a great quote over email a day or two later. He replaced the dryer vent over the 2nd floor master bathroom in which a bird had flown in and created a nest with eggs and was making a ruckus with its chirping. Since then we finally have peace and quiet. Also for my front door, I had a storm door handle that was hitting my newly installed electronic deadbolt on the front door and both the front door and storm door couldn't be closed at the same time. Jason was able to perfectly push out the framing which finally allowed for both the front door and storm door to be closed at the same time. Jason also painted the framing to blend it into the front door and the previous framing with no spills or staining. He was very courteous and prompt. When an issue with the storm door lock came up, he came over that weekend and fixed it and it now works perfectly."

Plan on refinishing your floors every seven to 10 years to keep them looking their best. If you spot heavy scratches, sun-faded boards, water stains, or a thinning finish in high-traffic areas, consider moving up the timeline. A quick check each season lets you catch trouble early and protect the wood for the long haul.
You can skip full sanding only if the finish is still in great shape. In that case, your hardwood flooring pro can lightly buff the surface and apply a fresh topcoat. You can maintain regular sweeping and vacuuming to keep grit at bay. But if you see wax buildup, dents, or deep scratches, sanding is a must. Otherwise, the new coat will highlight every flaw.
Sweep or dust-mop every few days, then follow up with a slightly damp microfiber mop and a cleaner specifically designed for wood floors—avoid anything harsh that can strip the finish. For stubborn marks, rub lightly with fine steel wool and a bit of mineral spirits, then buff with wax. Adding blinds or curtains also shields boards from sun-fade and keeps the color even.
