"Angel and his 8-person crew from Apex Roofing completed re-roofing my 4BR colonial in one day! My roof needed a lot of TLC and Apex provided it: fascia board and plywood replacement where needed, new ridge vents, skylights, and more. They even shingled my cat house at no additional charge! Professional, prompt, great communicators, excellent clean-up, fair price. Very highly recommended!"

"Paul pointed out right away major faults in the way the deck was built and how unsafe it was. The foundation post and beams were not up to code, He seriously thought the deck would collapse at any moment. He knew right away what needed to be done, explained in detail how it should have been built correctly and what he would do to make it safe and up to code. After taking photos of the stress points and problematic areas of the deck, he said he will get back to me to give an estimate of the cost of the project. In less than a weekend, he called me back as promised with the estimate. Despite his heavy work schedule, Paul gave priority to this project with a timeline to finish the work in a week. He finished in less than a week even when he discovered midway in his work that the middle portion of the deck had a bump because the opposite sides of the joist was sinking. Of which he ably corrected. I am very pleased with the quality of his work and the difference with the deck is like night and day. Where there were puny posts before, has now been replaced with proper sized posts imbedded in correct concrete piers for strong support. The privacy wall was perfectly replaced with a very appealing but definitely sturdy boards that can let in light but can withstand the winds. I am very pleased with the excellent craftsmanship that Paul has done on this project. I highly recommend him to any homeowner needing his services. You will only be satisfied by his superb work!"

"What I thought was going to be a painful process turned into a pleasant experience. Mr. Flynn was very timely in giving me a quote, supplying information about the materials, paperwork such as insurance certificate , and not subbing out the job. Mr. Flynn's crew was here at 7:50 AM. Stopped for lunch at 11:30 returned to work promptly at 12:30 and was finished with the job by 3. They were all very professional and courteous. The clean up was impeccable. Mr. Flynn and his crew know how to run a business. Kudos to Robyn too for all her help. Great Company!"

"We had a new roof put on our mobile home. The fair price quoted fit into our budget and the work performed was excellent. The crew was on time, the roof was replaced quickly and the clean up was very good. Shawn provided me with the information I needed to apply for the "Roofs For Troops" veterans discount. I would highly recommend Pyramid Roofing "

"We had a rough time with all weather exteriors. -non NH crew (subcontracted out of Massachusetts) -poor workmanship (flashing not done correctly) -a lot of “that’s the way roofs are done” type of gaslighting. When problems were pointed out. -items we asked to be avoided weren’t respected (asked our flat roof to not be walked on, soft spots, and they used it as staging ) Over all very disappointed with this company. Got told I didn’t know how flashing was supposed to look, and got gaslighted into just saying “ok” and paying because fixing items was a hassle. “It’s a 100 year old house” -yes we know. We’re trying to make it better but it definitely felt like we were judged on this aspect, and were treated as such."

"Recently bought a house on which EAW Roofing had done the roof 3 years ago. The roof had a leak and since the previous owner gave me the invoice, I decided to call them for the warranty. They went to take a look and blamed the chimney flue and after getting the chimney inspected and getting the report stating that it was the roof. EAW said that there was no warranty and they needed to charge if they were to inspect it and charge for any repairs needed. Just to get them to visit took months. I decided to check the roof myself and it’s the worst roof job that I had ever seen. They do not stand by their work. I would give them zero stars if possible. I would advise to use someone else as it’s ridiculous to have a roof that’s a few years old that’s leaking and in bad workmanship"

"Radek and his team of 7 men and 1 woman (!) showed up at 7 AM (on-time) 8 hours later had stripped 2500 ft2 of the old shingles, replaced all the drip edges, re-flashed where necessary, waterproofed, installed two new skylights, shingled and did a thorough cleanup of the area. They did a great job minimizing the mess from such a job. The team was professional and very efficient. I would recommend Dempsey Roofing LLC without reservation."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in New Boston, NH

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
