"For the 20 years we have been in our house, we used The Kitchen Master for our kitchen, our master bathroom, our hall bathroom and the best **** mud room you will ever see. Jennifer is an extraordinary designer and Ted is a perfectionist who will make sure his team delivers top notch work. For our first project, the kitchen, we ordered the cabinets through The Kitchen Master but had our own contractor install them. Big mistake! A few years later when Ted came to the house for the next project, he was so disappointed with how my contractor hung the kitchen cabinets that he fixed them for me. I’ve never used anyone else since. We haven’t had a major project in about 5 years but when I decided to sell my house, I needed a few things fixed to make everything look great. Some water damage below the sink had warped that cabinet, a toe kick was beyond a simple touch-up, and then I broke a glass pane in one of the kitchen cabinets 2 weeks before showings were to start. Ted and his team hopped right on it when I called. They didn’t have to do that. My work wasn’t going to be a big money maker and I’m moving out of state so there isn’t the promise of a lot of work in my next house. But none of that mattered. Ted and his team made me feel like they always make me feel - like my project was the most important one in the world."

"From the beginning Ely was extremely professional and upfront about service and cost. I had a problem on my end causing me to cancel and Ey was extremely accommodating. I then needed the service for another vehicle so immediately contacted Ely. The service was extremely quick and exactly as promised. I would highly recommend United Freight to anyone transporting a car, particularly between FL and NY."

"Design Your Basement is an amazing service that's helping us finish our basement, so that our family can enjoy our entire house. The design process was fast and seamless. The team at Design Your Basement provides great customer service and helped us identify design opportunities that we never would have thought to include. Not long after contacting Design Your Basement, the professionals were there to measure our basement. In no time at all, they had design ready for our review, which was based on our feedback. We enjoyed our design presentation meeting and it was easy to make the changes we wanted from the initial draft design. In addition, the 3D walk-through made it easy to envision how the basement will look before anything was done. Contractors from Design Your Basement are now helping us with framing and consulting with us on DIY portions of the project. We strongly recommend Design Your Basement."

"I received an elevator kit and assembled it myself. The instructions were OUTSTANDING! Clear, concise, comprehensive. Hired someone to cut the hole in the garage attic floor and installed it myself."

"Perfect. I enjoyed getting to sit in the storm shelters at their showroom to help with size selection. After signing up for the install, they connect you to an online portal to manage the contract and to update building permit number, etc. Installation was prompt and clean."

"After receiving bids from 4 vendors, we went with Griffitts Construction because (a) they promised completion by end of October, and (b) we were very happy with their previous work to replace several windows. <br /> <br />  Turns out that Griffitts subcontracts its roofs, and while the end product looks OK, it was not a good experience.  Griffitts itself is wonderful to work with, and was very good about sending both subcontractors back to fix the problems and complete the work. However, this project dragged on forever.  I have never had a relatively basic project have so many problems.  I signed the contract on October 5th and it included a statement that the work would be done in October.  Well, the project did not get started until the last week of October and all the beautiful weather in October was over.  The rains started.  The roof and gutters did not get completed until the 3rd week in November, and I am amazed I did not have a stroke from being so upset about all the problems.  <br /> <br /> A few of the events in no particular order: <br /> -My wife got a flat from backing over debris left in our drive <br /> -The subcontractor roofers ripped up the front yard when they apparently backed a vehicle up close to the house when the ground was wet and got stuck. <br /> -The roofers dropped debris from an upper roof to my porch roof, which was not being re-roofed, damaging that roof while shoveling off the debris that had been dropped upon it. <br /> -The roofers filled the porch roof gutters with nails and debris and did not clean them out. <br /> -The roofers installed ridge vents without cutting the ridge, requiring them to come back on a weekend to take off the ridge vent, cut the roof, and re-install the ridge vent. <br /> -When confronted with the above, rather than being apologetic, the subcontractor was belligerent and complained about lost time. <br /> -When installing step flashing along a second story outside wall (rake), the roofer splintered and broke the existing siding at the bottom and left it that way rather than making a clean cut with a circular saw.  He said nothing to me about it, and I discovered it later, doing the best I could to re-stain the broken edges.  <br /> -The roofer tore the old roof off before a weekend rainstorm and we had two leaks that needed repair. <br /> -The subcontractor gutter installer installed every downspout (10 of them) incorrectly, so that the downspouts dumped water on the ground instead of tying the downspouts into the existing ground tiles (that the old gutters had been tied into). This is after I asked for them to call if any questions arose.  The gutter subcontractor was at least cordial, and eventually tied the gutters into the ground tiles. <br /> <br /> In sum,,the folks at Griffitts  responded to each of my complaints, but the problems that arose should not have occurred at all.  If they were to use a different subcontractor, or do the work in-house, I would use them again simply because I had such a good experience the first time for windows. "

"Excellent - Designed Stairs were very responsive from the beginning. I really liked their customer service (Angela was great!), always called back when they said they would and worked with me on speeding up the manufacture when it looked like things were slowing down. The guys who installed the stairs were real craftsmen - very into what they do and took exceptional care to make the staircase look good."

"Did a great job! One break was outside and they had to dig up the yard to get to the sewer line. Repaired with new section with clean outs. Removed all the tree roots in the rest of the line and made sure everything was okay. Had to jack hammer a hole in the basement floor to fix the other break. Had to use a t connection as there was another line running into the main. Fixed the sewer pipe and filled the hole with gravel and then topped off with concrete to repair the hole. Did a great job. Very pleased! <br /> <br />"

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in New-canton, IL

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
