"Green Power energy was highly rated on Energy Sage. After reading local reviews on Facebook groups, my confidence they were a good company was affirmed. My experience went exactly how they said it would be and I was very happy with the entire process. The energy generation is about where they said it would be and I highly recommend them."

"We hired Kiefer Randall (KR) to do a remodel in our basement, which we were told by owner Tim Kiefer would take 3 weeks. The estimate was high, but we went with it, on the promise of high quality work and high standards and hoping that by hiring out, we would gain freedom from worry and hassle on this project. We paid KR over 90% of a project that cost as much as (or more than) a full kitchen remodel. Tim Kiefer was in our home nearly daily supervising this project, yet the work that was completed was sub-par and we are now in the position to do the work ourselves and/or to hire contractors to fix and finish the work. He told us, before and when signing the contract that we would get daily updates from him or his team, yet we had to continually reach out to him to get updates or to bring up concerns. We were seriously disappointed in this company for the following reasons: The work that they did was not completed to a professional standard. Examples: Excessive and noted pockmarks in drywall on finished, painted walls. Walls that have visible tape marks and cracks. Walls that were literally painted without using lighting. Both glossy and matte paint were used on trim work. No attention to dust/dirt remediation until we insisted about 9 weeks into the project and even then it was minimal. Tim dropped the ball on several items that required coordination for the project (that’s why we were paying the high price), then blamed us for the issues. At 14 weeks we summarized in an email the issues we had raised with him (and added a few additional concerns). He responded with the following: “I no longer feel that our professional relationship should continue due to a breakdown in good faith and trust, and that we should part ways now before the relationship deteriorates further.” He attached a final bill with this message (for the last 10%), for unfinished work! Since KR left about 3 months ago, the bathroom in the project area flooded and we had to tear up the brand new flooring. We discovered that KR, instead of getting the correct parts to fit our toilet, used caulk to try to make it fit, resulting in a slow leak that built up over time! We reached out to KR informing them about this issue, and they didn’t respond at all. Not worth the money or the hassle!"

"Poor installation quality, lack of follow up for warranty coverage. They sub out to local contracts with apparently no quality controls. Gunner put on a new roof, new siding, new front doors, and new gutters. Not one of those was done to complete satisfaction. They covered my dryer vent with Hardie board which could have caused a fire if I didn't smell the burning smell while I was doing laundry. My front 2 doors came in the wrong size after 8 weeks and they had to reorder which took another 8 weeks. Finally, the doors were installed improperly: surrounding trim too short, covered a gap under the step with flashing, and didn't align the doors properly. The flat roof part had to be redone 3 times and it still wasn't properly installed. The property manager at the time, who has since left, was very nice and gave me $1500 credit. I had 2 other roofers out since to look at the problem and both said the flashing was installed improperly and they have to pull off boards etc and this will co"

"I just closed on my house at the end of October and it needed chimney sealing. Other contractors promised to take the job on and then did not deliver. One contractor even told me it didn't need work without even going up on the roof. This company was also busy but came out and got the job done within a week or so of my call. The price was also most reasonable. You are my roofers for life Mike Peranich. Thank you for fitting me in. I was so worried that the roof was going to leak and cause damage this winter. Such a relief to have it done. Thank you again. Anne C."

C M 4 reviews a minute ago NEW Promises and warranties mean nothing if you have no handle or control over the manufacturer. Stuck with a house of expensive windows half of which are defective but cannot be fixed because "manufacturer is not doing painted windows at this time" or the past couple years apparently. Have a large picture window separating and flexing due to poor installation. Was also supposed to he fixed and never was. The son has been rude about it since the beginning and almost annoyed that we would bring up the constant issues. Workers were rude, smoking, messy and only worsened as we would request them kindly to clean up after themselves so my family was not stepping on shards of wood, nails and debris left in excess. Windows are very hard to latch. They look nice but who cares if it doesn't function properly and can't be fixed. After responding to another clients review with my experience, i was softly threatened to keep my experience to myself and to handle through him. I tried this but it got me nowhere. Windows have been our biggest home investment yet and feel that others should be warned so they don't have the same poor experience and left with brand new windows that function like theyre ready to be replaced already. Make a better choice than we did so you can be happy."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in New Milford, PA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
