"This review is based on my experience with Miracle Method of Indianapolis. I have used this process before in another home and found it to be the best option as I do not like grout. This last project was exhausting and after numerous attempts to get it resolved I contact CDH. They were more than willing to help me and took a lot of time on the phone to help me. In the end I had to finish with Miracle Method as they already had 100% of the funds. I will also state that I incurred additional fees in plumber trip and new fixtures that were damaged as to a bad tape job. I wish I would have called CDL first. Please beware of Miracle Method."

"Bud the representative seemed like a great guy. However, on the first agreed date they did not show up. Only after I called to enquire was I informed that the workers called in sick. Another date was arranged. Bud showed up on time but left around noon promising to be back that afternoon. Again, they were a no show until the next day. They did not finish the job that day as I was told they would. I had to take another day from work the following week to have them finish. On that day, when they finished, I went to inspect the final product. It was a mess! The cabinets had areas of scratches, rough and uneven paint finishes and the base of the cabinet wasn't painted at all! Completely disappointed by the work. All around negative experience."

"Communications with the company were very poor. Installers showed up essentially whenever it appeared to be handy for them. They were also very dismissive of any questions, even though our questions pointed out obvious errors. The final product (new cabinets and drawers) was nice. However, after a year, one drawer began to seriously stick. When the company was contacted, we got a message essentially saying "Show us the money or you're on your own." $150 just to show up, with no guarantee that the drawer would be fixed or how much more it would cost. Again, this is for a drawer that is about one year old. Based on the installation problems we encountered, as well as lack of support afterwards, we do not recommend using Miller Cabinets of Indianapolis."

"I was referred to CMH Builders/Cherished Woodcraft from another company I was doing business with in the area as I am new to Indiana from moving from out of state recently. Initially, my contact with the representative Todd Lipking was great and the communication was quick and responsive. Upon signing a Letter of Engagement and giving a deposit, stories changed, communication became spotty at best, and multiple dates of promise for scope of work and contracts being provided were broken. The date promised in the Letter of Engagement was broken by the company by almost 2.5 weeks or 11 business days. Multiple attempts at communication were not returned and finally was reached out to after being ‘forgotten about.’ The reviews and pictures of the work do look good and hopefully this is a one off for the company but I would highly advise caution in dealing with a company that practices business like this especially when projects are of the magnitude and cost they are for custom built-ins and the like."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in New-richmond, IN

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
