"The equipment was delivered promptly, and the installers arrived shortly after. Chris Hardin and Anthony were the installers. They were very experienced, well trained, knowledgeable, and did top quality work. Both were polite, personable, and treated me with respect. I tend to be a perfectionist and must say if I would have had the skills to do this job myself, I could not have done any better. I have never seen such good quality for any heating and air conditioner replacement in other homes I have owned. In addition to replacing the furnace and air conditioner units, some other items that were replaced were: suction and liquid lines, the exterior breaker box, condenser pad, furnace vent, insert in the vent going up the chimney, and the condensation pump and hose. The old furnace was situated such that there was not much room to change the air filter and perform maintenance. The new furnace was repositioned to eliminate that problem. This involved rerouting the electrical cable to the furnace switch and partially extending the gas line. My previous coil was never a tight fit over the furnace and therefore, cool and warm air escaped. Special care was taken to tightly mount the new coil and thoroughly seal it with silicone. Some insulation was even used around ducts nearby. All the old equipment, including the condenser pad, was hauled away. The work area was cleaned up well after completion."

"They come once a year. We've got a life-long contract that they come once a year and do an inspection for us. They're very thorough. They offer suggestions. Well, they fixed it. It's fixed. They're very good at fixing the problem and it doesn't break. So, the quality of their work is very, very good. As I said, they offer suggestions. If they say that in the next year, you're going to have to look into replacing this faucet, and here's your options. It's nice to be presented with the options. And they're very knowledgeable, all of them, they're very knowledgeable for their business."

"They are pretty expensive just to walk into the door. I had a water leak, they had to find a water leak. I saw where it was leaking, there was a leak up there and they didn't know how you could find it. They didn't try to find it. So I got to get a handyman or something in to take care of that where it's leaked trough my ceiling from underneath my upstairs bathroom. And they didn't show any concern for that or try to check it they just; they found where my leak was coming from and they had been here, that was the 2nd time they had been here and they couldn't find the leak before. And then finally they found it that day. It was nothing it was my water softener that was leaking. And I had to call the water softener people in. They dug in my yard before, I was paying these high water bills and they couldn't find the leak outside. Come to find out the city water company could have checked for a leak, yeah I found that out after I paid them a few hundred dollars. But I have used them for years. It's hard to find somebody that's reliable. They charge like a trip fee and then a service call and then so much and hour and all that. So I try to use a handyman when I can. Like for this leak since they didn't even say how I could check it you know they wouldn't even know where it was coming from. And they just got their money from telling me it was my water softener and went on. They didn't help me with that leak."

"I called Guelda on June 2. I decided to ask them to do the work because they had replaced water meters in my neighborhood and the work seemed to go well. I was scheduled for a technician to come out on June 6 between 8:30-9:30 AM. At 9:30 no one had shown up so I called to confirm my appointment. I was told there had been an oversight of the work order and the representative apologized for the mistake. I rescheduled the work for 10:00-11:00 AM on June 6. At 11:09, I called Guelda and told the representative that my appointment could be cancelled because no one had shown up as rescheduled. I called another plumbing company. At about 11:30-11:40AM, the Guelda technician showed up. He had looked at the faucet on the side of my house and said that it was a frozen pipe split. I told him that the problem faucet was in the back and that I had already schedule another company to come out and resolve the problem. At no time with either schedule was I called to let me know (1) there was an oversight with my original schedule or (2) that the technician was delayed for the reschedule."

"The plumbers from Ven Hoff are very professional and knowledgeable. I have had them I think three or four times during remodeling and seen at least three different men. No problems at all. One thing I so much appreciate is that unless two men are required, Ven Hoff sends only one. Other plumbers I have used always send two men--and charge much more. <br /> I also appreciate that when I call in and describe a problem, the man they send will be chosen because he is knows that particular kind of problem. For example, one of their men is very good with hot water heating and understands the workings of the furnace. Another may be better at something else. Again, I have called another plumber in the area, described the problem, and been charged despite the fact that neither of the two men sent knew diddly about that particular kind of problem. <br /> Service is prompt and timely. Usually in a non-emergency situation there has been only a day or two between my call and the day of the appointment. <br /> We are very pleased. <br />"

"We were seeing steam come out of our unit that sits outside and were concerned that we were going to have an electrical fire.  We seen this company on Angie's list for a very low, low price and decided to call.  They scheduled the appointment right away for the same day after 5 pm.  They called back shortly after that call and offered us an earlier time which of course was awesome.  The two technicians came on time and were very knowledgeable and professional.  They explained it is just a feature of our unit that it is actually de-icing... now worries (at least not now)!  Great company, great price, great technicians!!! <br />"

"I had received a flyer from Graham which described their philosophy, which I liked. So decided to give them a call. I had water on the floor of a small bathroom that had wet the carpet in an adjoining bedroom. I couldn't identify the source and my house is on a concrete slab with water pipes under the concrete. Sam Graham responded pretty quickly and spent about 45 minutes analyzing the potential sources of the problem and how to fix it. I trailed along with him and he didn't seem annoyed by that-I was impressed with how he analyzed the situation. He finally said he couldn't specifically identify the source but thought it was unusual that water would appear on the surface since pipes are below concrete. He thought the problem was probably under the sink vanity where the pipes come up through the concrete to the sink faucets. He said he could remove the vanity to verify that as the source but, if it wasn't, he would have to search more. Therefore, he suggested going into the wall(s), capping off the copper pipes, replacing with PEX pipes, and rerouting PEX pipes through walls rather than up through the concrete. Because of the layout of the pipes, his men had to cut through the wall of an adjoining closet, jack hammer concrete across the floor, cut into the wall of the adjoining bedroom and route the new pipes to the sink faucet and toilet. Once the new pipes were laid into the jack-hammered trench, the men reconcreted the floor. Since Graham's doesn't to remodeling, I hired a construction company to repair the walls. During that work, they found water damage to the vanity cabinet and removed it to replace it with a new vanity. Under the vanity was standing water, which validated Sam's initial thought that the leak was under the vanity. Graham's repair took care of the issue and I've not had a leak there since."

"This is the second time I've used Adam's Plumbing. The first time we had problems with a shower that another company misdiagnosed and we kept having problems with. Adam was able to diagnose the problem when others could not. With the current issue I did not hesitate to call Adam's Plumbing again. Adam was prompt, courteous and friendly. He was quickly able to assess the problem. He explained exactly what needed to be done and when finished described again what work was done and any other issues. I love that he wears covers over his shoes to not dirty up the floor and cleans up afterward! Excellent service! I highly recommend him!!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in New-washington, IN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
