"I would like to thank Brad Hosick from Heads Roofing for his prompt attention regarding storm damage to our roof. Brad responded by promptly supplying a quote and working with our insurance company. He was very knowledgeable, honest, and customer oriented. The roofers came out in a timely manner and finished when Brad said they would. He made this experience comfortable and satisfying; moreover, we were impressed with his professionalism. Thanks Brad and Head’s, we would not hesitate to recommend you."

"They were out very quickly to do the estimate, and installed the roof within a week once i hired them for the job. The roof had been leaking so their timeless was greatly appreciated. We had some damage to our decking that accounted for the leaks. They repaired that as well. They also installed new roof on my father-in-law's business and he was very pleased. Again were very quick to get work done."

"Robert was very responsive and told me that I could have my leak fixed rather than replacing my whole roof. He repaired the leak and I haven't had any more issues with it. A few years later he came back after a storm and was honest with me that I didn't need replacement after a few shingles were lifted by wind. I really appreciate his honesty."

"The technician was on time and professional. He climbed up on the roof and examined it. He reported that there was no damages, but a couple of shingles needed repair. He repaired the loose shingles for no charge This service gave me great confidence in the firm. I would use them in the future."

"Bill Morgan did an outstanding job replacing my roof and gutters. The entire roof replacement took 15-hours to complete in a single day, and the gutters were upgraded from 5-inch to 6-inch on the second day. The upgrade was recommended due to the pitch of the roof, and the volume of water coming off of the roof in the heavy storms that occur a few times per year in the Midwest. HIs crew also did a meticulous job cleaning up after the work was completed, and not a single piece of waste was found in the yard after they departed on the second day. Their work is warranted from defects in workmanship, and GAF warrants their shingles for 50-years. Excellent service and customer support from start to finish on the project. Seasoned and highly skilled installers for the roof and gutters. I highly recommend Bill Morgan Roofing and Construction to anyone in need of a new roof, or home repairs."

"I buy a plan for the seasonal things. On the price, I don't remember I think it's a couple of hundred dollars and they come out every three months. So, they check everything and occasionally they've done other things such as they've installed a new thermostat, things like that. Actually, that was on the initial visit, and that was an additional price. I've used them I think for a year and a half. It's reasonable, it's part of the package plan. Everything's been running pretty well. I just think they're pretty reliable, professional and easy to deal with. The interactions are very good. They explain what's going on if there is a problem they make sure that I understand what it is and I don't put any pressure on me to make a decision. I would say it's a good working relationship. It was an hour or an hour in a half to do the work, but there was something else that he found and I told him to go ahead and do that too. Everything was just as it was."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Newburgh, IN

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
