I have been in the construction industry for 40 years. We do drywall repairs, whole houses, garages. We also do interior painting.

"I really liked John from the start, he is a very nice guy. He showed up in clean painters clothing (uniform) and was very professional. He listened to all of the details of the multiple jobs I wanted done and asked appropriate questions about each. <br /> I was concerned as my deck had been stained previously by someone who was not good at staining and had left it looking very spotty and really different colors by their uneven product distribution. He acknowledged the problem and assured me he would do what ever it took to fix it. <br /> He gave me a quote that I felt was reasonable and we set a start date. <br /> The weather was not in our favor and the outside jobs had to get set back multiple times. However, he finished the inside work the next day after hiring and kept me informed of his intentions as the weather permitted (never disappeared). <br /> The work he did was very good the deck looks great. <br />"

"Not great. The stripping of the deck was done promptly after the bid, and he did and excellent job there. NO complaints.  This is what he is known for and I have no complaints. However, he also took on a sanding of the deck where someone else tried to previously powerwash and did so with too high power a system and completely tore it up.  It was a mess. He tried to do so with a hand sander and it took LOTS of time. Due to this and putting more hours into it than he had planned, things became rushed, and when he became rushed, quality slipped. Footprints are still on my stained porch, I had to re-do one side of a building, and overall just attitude with us and his workers slipped. When taking his time, he did a great job. when he got rushed, he did not. He would start the job, turn it over to his workers, and then leave to do estimates elsewhere. If not as much done when he got back as he thought there should be, suddenly a very fast pace ensued and quality slipped.  <br /> So in short, if just doing stripping of decks and staining, he knows what he is doing, and when he takes his time does it quite well. Otherwise, needs to stay away from staining of wood structures if he doesn't know how long he will take, and can't take his time.  <br /> <br />"

Zack was able to get an appraiser from our insurance to come out and do an inspection. It was determined that much of our damage was from hail and weather. We were delayed by weather for a few weeks, but when the crew arrived, they were the most efficient and courteous group I have ever worked with. The yard was covered during the tear-off, and they did not leave one piece of debris behind. The job was done in a total of 5 days, counting the time for replacing the gutters and flashing. Kudos to the gutter crew. They felt that our dormers needed wrapped in metal to make them match the new gutters and did it at no extra charge with remnants they had on hand.
